Nor wander from the narrow path again, Though each returning step be fraught with pain; The flowers which spring along that path, if few, Beam with surpassing loveliness of hue. There gleams of faith will lighten every cross, And earthly joys grow dim and seem but dross; Sweet peace within each contrite heart shall spring, And prayer continual strength and comfort bring. Thrice blessed they who from it never stray, Or who repentant find again their way; Not all who wander, the right way discern, Each false step makes it harder to return. Lord Jesus, Saviour, meek and lowly, mild, Grant us the spirit of a little child, To follow Thee along thy track of light, Assured that Thou wilt ever guide us right.. CONTRADICTIONS.
