Perfect for fans of Kristin Cashore and George R.R. Martin, this first book in a sexy and action-packed new series is impossible to put down!

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin--one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow over the faerie lands is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin--and his world--forever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Series, worth the read!! The author is really amazing and having already loved her other books I decided to read this series as well. This quickly became my favorite of her books due to its complex and well developed characters and captivating story line. Through the books many important messages about self worth and understanding as well as abusive relationships are semi-consciously explored. I absolutely love the characters and would highly recommend this book.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good start It's a great fantasy novel. Although it starts a little on the slower side, it gives a good introduction into the world of fae, and what to expect within the rest of the series. If you love fantasy, romance and adventure, I would say this is a good book to pick up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Favourite I read this book and loved it. I've recommended it multiple times, and each person loved it (nearly!) as much as I did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OBSESSED I've been nagging all of my friends to read this series, it is hands down my favourite series (after Harry Potter of course). I adore the characters, romance, friendships, plot twists, suspense, and the wonderful adventure Sarah J Mass' beautiful writing takes you on!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Such a good book/series!! I am so happy that I finally jumped into this series. It is so good, will not disappoint! It was incredibly hard to put down, but I wanted it to last forever! It was an interesting feel. Not sure what the timeline is supposed to be as it has some aspects of centuries before and some aspects of modern day, but I really liked it. It added to the individuality. Feyre was an interesting character but I loved watching her growth and healing. I was disappointed in Tamlin, and not because of the author, but because of him! Read to find out more! You won'd be disappointed!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best Deal! I've heard Sarah J Maas compared to George R.R. Martin, and I think that is completely wrong in every regard, but Sarah does know how to write a good story! The story starts off slow just like any Maas book does, but the ending is what you live for, as always.
Date published: 2018-07-19
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Takes you to another wold I got to travel through the pages and truly live with those characters. The storyline, the details, the places described everything was beautiful. I enjoyed every minute in Sarah J Maas's world and I can'T wait to read more!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE This series is so good!! I love the character development that Feyre goes through throughout the next book. This book was so good though and made a very exceptional first book to a fantastic series! Sarah really outdoes herself with every book!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best YA book It was interesting, the characters were well-developed. It teaches you how to say Feyre in the beginning. Fay-ruh, was mentioned in the book when her sisters talked about her. Tamlin was well-developed. The main idea and function of prythian was well though. All the courts made sense and no confusing names or places.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it so much! Truly an amazing read, the characters and plot are awesome
Date published: 2018-07-16
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Series Very heavy on the romance but I loved it regardless. The characters are so lovable (even if they got annoying by the third book). The first two books (especially ACOMAF) are amazing but sadly the last book falls short.
Date published: 2018-07-13
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Neat story I very much enjoyed the story line and fantasy world as well as the endearing twist on the classic tale of beauty and the beast. However I found the writing style a little difficult to get into and also found that the author repeated herself a lot throughout the story which took away some of the enjoyment for me. Overall I will admit that this book was worth the read and the ending is utterly genius and incredible and got me stuck in the series.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Captivating A great story which draws you in. Beautiful language, and a strong heroine to boot. Perfect for lovers of Young Adult Fiction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What an amazing series! This is an enticing and mind blowing series. It has you ravishing for more and once you start it is hard to put the book down! The book has you smiling, crying and laughing along with the characters. It is so well written you forget your reading and the words become a movie in your mind. A Court of Thorns and Roses will swallow your heart up! I would definitely recommend this to a mature reader.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! Absolutely lovely book. It had an amazing world with characters who worked perfectly for the story. Would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sarah does it again! Sarah J Maas is a wonderful, beautiful woman who I thank everyday for bringing me into the book world! Her Throne of Glass series is what opened my love for not only reading, but YA fantasy! Her ability to have a large set of characters and each being their very own, unique and NECESSARY additions to the plot amaze me, for it is very difficult for authors to balance a lot of characters. While ToG will always be my favourite series, ACOTAR is a very close second. For the of you who may have not loved the first book of this series I STRONGLY encourage you to keep going because the second book. A Court of Mist and Fury is even better, which is very rare for a sequel! Love, love, love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous This series is my absolute favorite! I have reread the series for each book that has come out. I can't wait for the next book in the series to come out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow One of the best series I've read so far. Simply amazing. I will definetly read it again in a few months!
Date published: 2018-06-25
Rated 3 out of 5 by from A little cliche, but an overall good read I enjoyed the overall story. The world she creates has endless possibilities. I liked that Feyre was the one to save the day like a knight in shining armour (instead of one of the guys), but I don't like that she needed help so much (and always from one of the male characters). I don't understand why she falls for the sulky guy... The night court high lord is an interesting character, but I'm still not sure I understand his end game. As I said, a little cliche, but an overall good read.
Date published: 2018-06-22
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mixed feelings! This is a tough one for me to rate, because spoilers ruined my reading experience for this book. If not for the spoilers, I would have loved it. It's a little hard to say just how much I would have loved it, but I definitely wouldn't have been angry for half of the book like I was. Thinking about it still makes me angry and I finished this book about four hours ago... I loved the world. I loved the characters. Feyra was pretty stupid a lot of the time, but I loved it. I loved the pacing. I loved Tamlin. Tamlin <3 <3 I also really liked Lucien. Lucien was excellent. But the spoiler stuff. Just... no. Made me so angry. I'm so angry. I couldn't enjoy this book the way I was supposed to. Knowing things from future books ruined my experience with some of the characters. I also probably would have read the second book if not for the spoilers (although not right away since this book works well as a stand alone, and there is nothing urging the reader to continue, except to be back in the same world with the same characters again). The ending would have prevented me from rating it 5 stars though, even if I loved it that much without the spoilers. Because it was sooooo dumb. Such a copout. Not a thing. The entire last chapter just had me rolling my eyes so hard it hurt. Like... really? Seriously? ugh. I'm so torn on a rating for this. It's not the author's fault my reading experience was ruined by knowing things ahead of time. It wasn't her intention for readers to know what's going happen in the second book before they read it. But knowing what happens in the second book, I just can't give it more than three stars. It makes me so angry. I would recommend this book as a stand-alone, definitely.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Court of Thorn and Roses This book seems separate from the rest of the series. It is good minus Feyre.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Court of Thorn and Roses Box Set I quite enjoyed this series. Although I hate Feyre
Date published: 2018-06-12
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good fantasy The book has a very interesting premise in a fantastical faerie world and the plot is attention grabbing. The characters are where this book falls a bit flat for me, especially Tamlin, but I think the ending sets up for the second book nicely and I'm interested to see where it leads.
Date published: 2018-06-11
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great start to the series! Right from the beginning of this book, it was intriguing and set the tone for a dark and mysterious atmosphere. I can say that there was very few pages that did not have me interested - it was a hard book to put down. I'm hoping the rest of the series is as good as the first book! #plumreview

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Amazing Honestly, some people may disagree but this book got me hooked on reading again after almost a year of keeping my books closed. I got it a little over a month ago and it took me less than 3 weeks to complete it and I was hooked and still am, since I'm almost at the end of the second novel. This book has everything from a hatred towards another kind, a different race-love relationship, suspense on what will happen next and so much action packed into every chapter. The story make take a slower start than I would of expected but I would recommend anyone to give this book a try! I would no doubt give this book 5/5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my favourites! I first read this book when it came out and all I can say is that it had a beautiful storyline and addictive characters! I highly recommend! Keep in mind this series is more along the lines of New Adult rather than Young Adult due to the descriptive sexual scenes (mostly in the sequels).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic I got this as part of a set for my birthday after a reccomendation. The person who reccomended it said that if I liked Harry Potter I would like this. I was skeptical at first, because obviously Harry Potter is in a league of its own, but I’m so glad I gave it a go. It’s hard to explain without giving spoilers so I will just say this; they are vastly different but the author has that same skill to draw you into the story and create a running movie through your mind as you read. I couldn’t put this book down, which hasn’t happened for me in years. I’m almost done the second book and they just keep getting better! If you love fantasy, sexual tension, action, emotional depth... give this series a try!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This book was great! I happened to buy this book as an impulse buy a few years ago, but I loved it so much I'm coming back to write this review. The characters are amazing and Maas really makes them come alive - at every twist and turn I felt for the characters. If you haven't already read this book, go do it now!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful series Sarah J Maas creates a wonderful world with amazing characters that develop and grow over the series! I could not stop reading the series! Amazing adventure, storylines, and romance piled into one amazing series! Definitely, a must-read for teens and young adults who love fantasy and romance!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from WELL..... I'm not a HUGE fan. Its good, far better than most YA fantasy books out there. Th eplot doesn't feel heavy, and the challenge of war and an unjust society isnt overwhelming. Thsi book was really refreshing. If you don't love this book, PLEASE FINISH IT. The sequels are incredible and blow this book out of the water. The series gets better with every book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! I was a bit hesitant to read this series because I was so hooked on Throne of Glass, but it turns out that I was very wrong!! I absolutely love this book and it is totally different than Throne of Glass. You can't even tell that it's been written by the same author. This book is the perfect combination of fantasy, romance, and adventure. It was an amazing read and I couldn't put it down! I also loved how, like Throne of Glass, as a strong female main character. I would 100% read this 100 times!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Life-changing I've had this series since it came out at the start and it is one of my favorite still to this day; I've read the series probably 15 times. The characters have such a unique personality and they follow such a different story line, Maas has beautiful writing and she brings this series to life. I found that the beginning of the first book was a little slow but it definitely picks up. The second book is hands down my favorite. To anyone sitting on the fence about this, you will not regret it so just buy it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adore This Series! I LOVED this series! A friend of mine highly recommended it and I am so glad she did as I generally gravitate towards something like The Game of Thrones, or Name of The Wind and thought at first that I may not be too interested in this series. I was so wrong! I was submersed in the whole series and then recommended it to others! Sarah J Maas is brilliant and I am so excited to see what else her amazing creativity and unique gifts brings to life next!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Read! It did have a slow to start to the book but you still wanted to know what was to come. Once it got good it was good and you couldn't stop reading it. Took me 4 days to finish so that means i must of liked it.
Date published: 2018-04-18
Rated 5 out of 5 by from READ THIS I only started reading the series because I had the Throne of Glass series and loved it! I was also waiting for the next book to come out for that series. I had seen some posts online as well about this one and was curious about since I loved the other series and Sarah is an amazing author. I was not disappointed with this one, some spin-offs or other series aren't as good as the original famed series but this one exceeded my expectations! No offence to this one but Throne of Glass is still my favourite of the two but this one is a close second
Date published: 2018-04-17
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I only have one thing to say. READ IT. No, I'm not kidding, just read it if you love everything romance, fantasy and action! Fell in love with this series, can't wait to read more books by Sarah J Maas!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sarah J Maas Did it Again! Sarah J Maas is my all time favourite author. A Court of Thorns and Roses did not disappoint. Although this had a bit of a slow start at the beginning, the last half of the book was action packed and had a enormous plot twist. The characters were lovable and the story was unique, witty, and action packed. Would recommend to anyone that loves a good romance, good friendship, a badass heroine, and a magical story!
Date published: 2018-04-16
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I absolutely loved it!!!! I have fallen in love with Sarah J. Maas universe. I red the whole trilogy in less than 5 days. I would recommend this book for any one looking for a book that keeps you on your toes and take your breath away with each twist plot. Everytime you think you have it all figured out, Sarah J. Maas just comes in and destroy you. Be prepare to laugh and cry and curse!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This book was okay I read this book twice. It was a little hard to get into the first time, which is why I only managed to read halfway. The second time was a little better as I was able to understand more of the story. I do recommend this book SINCE THE NEXT BOOK IS SO SO SO MUCH BETTER and you also need the knowledge from this book to read the next one (duh)!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great series I had heard amazing reviews on this series and finally decided to check it out. The characters are well written and manage to surprise at every turn. Sarah J. Maas manages to make characters that are threatening, yet still compassionate at the same time, with an ever changing storyline to keep you reading. I love this series and can't wait for the rest of it to be published.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great retelling of a classic fairy tale! I bought this last year and really enjoyed it. The characters were wonderful and the world building was amazing. The complexity of this novel wowed me and I could read and reread it! However, some relationships seemed to move very fast.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recommend! A great book to read with complex relationships, not predictable at all and great twists. I found it interesting after reading it the second time reading it too, on a different level. Very refreshing fantasy novel!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I don't give out 5 stars often There are not enough words to explain how amazing this book is. It is because of this book that I got out of my reading slump. It reminded me why I love literature so much. I was skeptical at first because faeries are not something I am interested in, but this book proved me wrong. It got me jumping out of my seat, screaming and dying to find people to talk to about it. I couldn't put it down! I think I found my new favourite author! If you like Beauty and the Beast, you'll love this high fantasy, young adult book (I use the young adult book term loosely when it comes to this book).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Book One I heard great things about this series and I've had the books for a while but just never read them. I'm not a huge fan of the cover art for these books and thought they were going to be a tad childish. But I was totally wrong on that front and it is a more young adult book than a teen book (in my opinion). I loved the characters and the storyline. It's different from all the other books out there. I love it!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Read It was a good book but I felt like some things (or characters) could have been more developed (cough Tamlin cough). The beginning was a little slow but once I got into it I was hooked! It has a few intimate scenes which I was a little uncomfortable with but I just skipped them and since it didn't add much to the plot, I was fine without.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Damn!!! I really loved this book, I wish it was longer so that I could read more. The cover is a bit childish and I really don't like it but whatever the book makes up for it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth the wait I finally got around to reading this and boy was it worth the wait. I really enjoyed the unpredictability of the characters, and the unconventional nature of Feyre as the female lead. The world building was well executed and the plot twists, though unsurprising, were well executed. The love story was very engaging and steamy as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great series Loved this series thought the last one was a little cramped at the end and you feel that the author is trying to tie up all the details in like a 100 pages and still your missing some info (tempo goes from slow in the first one (but you don't feel it) to like worpe speed in the last one). Great caracters all the way through and yes your going to want to see what happens after (new one to come but after the war). As for the set great present to offer though you can sometimes have a special where you'll get the individual book for 2 for 20$ so the set might be a little expensive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great series I loved the first two books but the last book in this series just wasn't as good as I was expecting. I was expecting a lot more considering the ending of the second book but it just felt like it was missing something. Hope there are more books in the series!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST SERIES EVER This was an amazing, captivating, page-turner of a book!! If you are a fan of fantasy and you don't read this, you are missing out! I have read TONS of teen fantasy novels, and this series is by far the best (along with her other series Throne of Glass). You will not be disappointed at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVED!! Absolutely incredible series that its too easy to loose yourself in. Beautifully written, dark and twisty but so flawless and fast paced that you won't want to put it down. Picked I up at the library based on the cover and then promptly went out and bought the full set from here. Best decision ever, the series was so good....highly recommended! hoping the author keeps going with the universe! What an incredible journey.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not to My liking I am so sorry, but this story just didn't appeal to me. I feel like the plot dragged on for a really long time and although I do enjoy stories about fae and magic...this book just wasn't for me. I was also frustrated at the main character at times... You can give the book a try if you want..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best book of 2015 I heard so many say that this book was ridiculously slow and that they had trouble getting through it, but I didn't find that at all. And I was never a Maas fan to begin with so there was really nothing enticing me to read this besides it being in a genre I enjoy, so I almost didn't read it. But it was at my library so I figured I would give it a try, and I am so incredibly glad I did. I loved this from the very first chapter. I loved Feyre and the world and the writing. I was not especially impressed with Throne of Glass because I had little interest in the story or characters, and I suppose that distracted me from the writing. I finally see what people were talking about when they said that Sarah J. Maas was a beautiful writer. I have always especially enjoyed stories about the fae, but I especially enjoyed this one because it is the first I have read that was set completely in its own unique world and had no connection to our own. It was not a contemporary fantasy, an urban fantasy, or a secondary-world fantasy. Also it was dark in a way that wasn't simply gritty like Holly Black's stories--it was evil and looming and immersive. I loved that the faeries weren't all stuck at the age of 17. As much as I love Julie Kagawa's Iron Fey, I always found it odd that they all looked like teenagers when they were immortal. Wouldn't they likely prefer to be frozen at the age of approximately 25, not 17? Tamlin, Lucien, and Rhysand were men, not boys. Some have listed this as YA, some as NA, but it felt like an adult romance to me. This is the most similar retelling of Beauty and the Beast to the original story that I am familiar with that I have ever read. Aside from the fact that Tamlin was not stuck in his beastly form the story had all the same important points and was so clearly recognizable, but at the same time was so different, with different stakes. The world was amazing and the threats and accomplishments more impressive. The characters are deep and their loyalties complex. Feyre is one of the strongest heroines I have seen in any genre in a long time, and leagues and leagues better than Celaena. Her love for Tamlin was inspiring, and Rhysand... I haven't found a character that captivating since the Darkling. I cannot wait to find out what will happen next, while Feyre deals with her new life as a fae, her dept to Rhysand, and likely a new threat from the king of Hybern.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really, really good! picked this up on a whim because I've enjoyed other books by this author and this didn't disappoint! Although the first half of the book are a bit hard to get into, the second half is filled with action and suspense! A must read!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Amazing This book was incredible! It has so many genres (i.e. romance, adventure, fantasy...) mixed into one so it caters to anyone! I also loved the main character. It was so refreshing to see a strong female protagonist in a YA novel. I can already tell this series is going to be one of my favourites.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An exceptional book I bought this book when it was on sale a few months ago as a vacation read. I am not going to lie, I did not instantly fall in love. The first few chapters detail the life of Feyre and are quite slow. I had a hard time reading past the first 4-5 chapters, but I am really glad that I stuck with it. Once this book took off, it took off running. It is fast paced, intense and electrifying. I honestly could not put it down. As soon as we got back from vacation, I purchased the next two books in the series. Sarah J. Maas is an exceptional writer and kept me fully enthralled the entire time. I do have to mention though, that this book is not for young children. I would not let my 13-year-old niece read this. I would recommend a reading age of 15+ for this novel due to its graphic nature and scenes of sexuality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Very Pleasant Surprise! Very pleasantly surprised! I stumbled upon some (very good) fanart of this series and tracked it down from intrigue. I generally give YA fiction a grain of salt and don't expect it to read like adult fiction... more easily-solved problems, less intricate plots and characters with a bit less depth. It's YA fiction, after all - and I'm not saying YA fiction can't be GOOD, not at all (I loves me some Harry Potter, like many in the world). I'm just saying that it wouldn't be YA if it were written for adults. Potential possible spoilers: I've seen a few reviews here complaining for exactly those reasons - that the book indeed tended to be 'too convenient' here and there, and things sometimes just magically worked their way out (and, lo, I'll be honest; I guessed that riddle right off and had to wait another 50 or so pages for Fayre to catch up)... but taken on its own merits, not expecting anything out of it... (I had actually managed to open directly to Sex Scene in book, paging through it when it first arrived, and I snickered at the cheesiness, taken out of context...) ...I've been Very Disappointed by YA fiction I very much wanted to like, of late. This one very much surprised me, and I'm heading off to Amazon to order the next two.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly What I'd Been Missing THIS BOOK…WAS EXACTLY WHAT I HAD BEEN MISSING IN MY LIFE. Where to even begin? The world building was spectacular. Having grown up reading Robert Jordan, Terry Goodkind, and Terry Brooks, I am not easily impressed by fantastical worlds. Especially for being a YA novel, I commend Maas on creating a world into which I lost myself for about a week. Maas’ descriptions of the world were almost lyrical, and they most definitely cast a spell on me. I found myself walking through the wintery forest of the human realm, and then strolling through lush gardens, dangerous woods, and high-ceilinged and luxurious rooms. As for the characters. My goodness! They are fully rounded out, with their positive attributes, flaws and all. The female lead was relatable, and I felt sorry for her at times, and at others felt that she was really empowered, and motivating. THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A STORY ABOUT A WEAK FEMALE CHARACTER! Now, regarding the men… The Fae are incredibly gorgeous, and depicted in a manner where you can almost feel them brush up against your arm, as if you can almost smell them. They were quite enjoyable to read about it. But this wasn’t a book where every single male character was unrealistically perfect. No, it is explicated that the High Fae are simply more superior to humans, which then explains their “unnatural” beauty. The human male characters are all described in a very realistic, and human (aka. flawed) manner. And finally, I would like to discuss Sarah J. Maas’ writing. Upon opening this book, I instantly felt that Sarah is not only a born storyteller, but that she is also a great writer. There are some storytellers who have a good story in mind, but simply do not know how to put it on paper. But Maas is not one of them. Throughout the book, Maas was in control of every single character and event in her story. The story flowed perfectly, and I wish that I could forget it all, just so I can read this book and experience it all over again! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS EXCEPTIONALLY-WOVEN STORY OF LOVE, LOYALTY AND MAGIC!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING I had this book on my shelf for 3 months before I decided to read it simply because I didn't have anything else to read.... I couldn't put it down once I started and I ended up finishing it in one day! Sarah J. Maas really knows how to tell a story! The female protagonist is amazing! She's not super cliche, despite this being yet another curse-breaking faerie story. There were probably only 2 parts where I rolled my eyes at a dumb move she mad, but other than that, I was hooked from the beginning. Do yourself a favour and read this book! You won't be disappointed!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 2.5 Out Of 5 Stars (Bumped Up To 3) For the sake of this review, I'm giving this book a solid three-star rating, but, given the option to dole out half-star ratings, I'd give this book a 2.5 out of 5 stars. No matter how many times I read it, I can't get over the obvious lack of world-building and the shallow, two-dimensional characters. There is nothing remotely original enough about this book to set it apart from all the other retellings on the market. In my own personal opinion, the only thing that made these books such a huge success was Rhysand. Otherwise: dull, nonsensical descriptions of prancing faeries and a mindless, insta-love romance. Thank God for Rhys.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ending was cliche for me I actually liked how the book started and the pace it took, despite what other reviews say. The climax of the book with the task was the best part for me. But, it was the ending that was a downer, in my case. I bought the first book, but I think I'll read the others from the library to find out what happens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seriously. Awesome. I was hesitant to read this because it's kinda historical fantasy ( well not strictly historical but there's like swords, no technology etc) BUT then I read it and it was the best decision of my life. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Deliciously Delightful! I'm probably the lone wolf out here in the world, this was my first Sarah J Maas novel. I know shame on me. Sarah's novels have been on my to read books list for seemingly forever I decided to jump right into A Court Of Thorns and Roses, and I was not disappointed. I'm a sucker for anything Beauty and the Beast. Yes, this re-telling is probably so loosely based there are only brief fragments of the original work seen within this novel. But it got me, and I'm hooked. There were some flaws within this novel -- nothing can be perfect (where would the fun be in that). BUT, I really enjoyed the roller-coaster of a ride this entire novel. I read it in like 1.5 days because I just needed to know. I kid you not when I say this novel is enthralling. It had me up super late at night thinking about these characters. Where I want these characters to do within the next novel, where they will probably go that is going to upset me (in the best way possible). Yes, I'm the type of person when a character is doing something you disagree with you your pairing isn't happening I hate and enjoy it all at the same time. I just love all the feelings that novels can give you. I really enjoy books that have characters with deep and rich backgrounds. Where you can see that character grown and change with every interaction. And I feel like that happens with each character within this novel. Feyre, Tamlin, Lucien and even Rhys. Tamlin...super new favourite. He is so ahh, he just makes me so happy. I love you thorns and all; like common I'm dying now, crying. It's beautiful. Things got pretty steamy in some scenes, which I was expecting a bit but not to this degree and from what I hear it just gets spicier.. totally down for this entire series. I know there are going to be wrenches thrown into the mix in the next installment! I super can't wait! Considering this novel is so popular and has been out for a few years I have managed very well to avoid any sort of spoilers regarding this series ! W00t W00t !! Starting the next installment today after work! But hoping to go to sleep at a decent time tonight. I'll keep you posted!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from AWESOME When I heard this book was a retelling of beauty and the beast, I immediately put ACOTAR on the wishlist. I bought it and read it. The first 60 pages or so I think it was a bit boring, there were not a lot of action or anything going on. But I gave the book a chance and when I read more, action came pouring in. So keep reading and you will enjoy it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Beauty and the Beast retelling complete with Celtic folklore This book started off a phenomenal series that started off strong and remained engrossing until the end. The story is a loose adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, and follows Feyre as she navigates the mysterious world of the fey after being taken prisoner for killing one of their own. The characters are so well developed that they have their own complexities, and will keep you guessing. Full of romance, adventures and heart pounding suspense, this book is a fantastic read for anyone who enjoys fairytale retellings, Celtic folklore or just a good fantasy story.
