This process recommended in Natural Death from Disorders, as it is practised by the Humane Societies in cases of Violent Death from accident. Theconfustd notions of the Humane Societies, on the application of -the Resuscitative Art, to cases of Natural Death; which they seem to recommend, and never to practice, as in cases of Violent Death. Disorders enumeratedwhich are more likely to terminate sometimes in the Death o/1Suspended Animation--Apoplexies--Nervous and Hysterical Affections--Syncope--Fits &c. Acute Disorder producinggreat debility.--The Confluent Small Pox, Nervous and Malignant Fevers--Uterine Disorders in Females;--Parturition &c. Suggeslion,that Death may sometimes be the crisis of a Disorder, or even that it may operate, as a cure of that Disorder, as in certain Fevers, Hydrophobia fee. &c. / shall in this Article compare the Cases of Natural Death, attendant on a previous Disorder and Violent Death from accident, and I shall s'leiv the expediency of applying the Resuscitative Process in cases of Natural Death, from the success of the Humane Societies in castes of Violent Death. I have already examined some of the disorders, in which, when Death occurs, this Process might probably be sometimes adopted with success, and I shall more fully detail under one view, these and various other Diseates, in which the same process might be applied with the same favourable issue. The Humane Societies, as we have seen, have detailed those Disorders, which sometimes end in a state of Death, under fallacious signs, and I have shewn, what- confused notions they entertain on this subject.
