Gospel, with the history of the Scriptures, both of the Old and New Testament, may with the greater facility be communicated unto them; so as, in a sense, that of the Prophet Isaiah1 may be said to be fulfilled as to the Indians of America; "the people that walked in darkness have seen a great light, they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined."
