Since 1874 several Middle-class Day-schools have been established in various parts of the Connexion. The sons and daughters of Wesleyan-Methodists may obtain in these schools a good education, associated with valuable Christian privileges. For General Regulations, see Minutes, 1875. The Wesleyan Colleges at Sheffield and Taunton have long maintained a high character. The more recently established Leys School, Cambridge, also provides a superior education. Resolutions of the Conference on one or more of these Institutions may be found in the Minutes for 1836, 1840, 1873, and 1875. Jones' "Memorial of the Religious Tract Society" does not mention the Tract Societies in existence among the Methodists. The institution which he extols, and which, indeed, has rendered invaluable service, was formed in 1799, seventeen years after Wesley and Coke had organised a Tract Society.
