One of the few humans who managed to escape the deadly twilight world of Vamp City, Quinn Lennox vows never to return. But the vampires want her back, for only she has the power to renew the magic of their crumbling world and free the vampires trapped within.

When the dangerous and all-too-seductive Arturo Mazza comes for her, Quinn knows she can never trust him after the betrayal she suffered at his hands. But with her beloved brother's fate hanging in the balance, and her own power beginning to emerge, she chooses to risk all on yet another perilous journey back to Vamp City. And though she tries to deny it, her heart begins to hold hope that even a ruthless vampire can learn the meaning of true love . . .

WhenNew York Timesbestselling author Pamela Palmer's initial career goal of captaining starships didn't pan out, she turned to engineering, satisfying her desire for adventure with books and daydreams, until finally succumbing to the need to create worlds of her own. Rated 4 out of 5 by from "A Kiss of Blood" by Pamela Palmer. Book 2 in the Vamp City Series. I read this book in July 2013. This was my review. This book starts 3 weeks after book 1, "A Blood Seduction" ends. Quinn and her brother have escaped from Vamp City, but now her brother is getting sick. But her brother's sickness is linked to the deteriorating state of Vamp City. The only way to cure him is to go back to Vamp City and save the city from destruction from the curse that was activated when she, the sorceress, entered Vamp City the first time. What should Quinn do? Save her brother, which would also save all the evil vampires in Vamp City and condemn humans to be their food? Or let Vamp City be destroyed by the curse, which kills all the vampires and her brother, but saves all of human kind? Oh, and she can't forget that Arturo and his friends are in Vamp City too. And Arturo is certainly not evil or trustworthy...is he?? A lot of character building in this book both with Arturo and Quinn. You find out a lot more information regarding Quinn's magical ancestors and why she can't access her magic. I really liked the story and really liked the subplot that's happening with Quinn's brother. I did find the ending somewhat anti-climactic. When I finished reading, I felt like not many of the main plot issues were resolved. But at the end of the book, it leads you to what is going to happen in book 3. Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book and I will continue to read this series.
