Rated 5 out of 5 by from "A Silver Wolf Christmas" by Terry Spear. Book 17 in the Heart of the Wolf series. Book 5 in the Silver Town Wolf series (series within the Heart of the Wolf series). I read this book in October 2015. This was my review. I loved this addition to the Heart of the Wolf series! The title can be a bit deceiving because you think the story focuses on Christmas, but it doesn't. The story happens around the time of Christmas, obviously in the winter and sets up the feel of the book really well. The main characters are CJ (Connor James) and Laurel. CJ has been interested in Laurel ever since she and her two sisters have moved into Silver Town six months ago and bought the town's hotel to renovate. They have refused help from any wolf and have stayed apart from the pack, keeping to themselves and the hotel. CJ knows Laurel and her sisters don't usually stay in one place for long because buying and renovating hotels is their business and keeps them moving all the time. But he's not giving up. If CJ can only convince Laurel that staying in Silver Town is right for her and her sisters, he would be a very happy wolf. Laurel is the one for him, but she's also keeping something from him. If she needs his help, he'll give it and hopefully convince her to stay at the same time. Laurel and her sisters are on a mission. They are trying to find out what happened to their aunt who disappeared years ago. The trail has lead to Silver Town being the last place her aunt was seen in the very hotel they just bought. Silver Town has been nice and welcoming but she and her sisters have been keeping their distance because how are they supposed to trust any of these wolves if one of them may be responsible for her aunt's disappearance? Or maybe even her death? One wolf in particular, the handsome Deputy Sheriff CJ has made it clear that he's interested in her as a mate. But can she really trust him? Can she tell him why she's really in Silver Town? LOVE LOVE LOVE this story! It reads like a mystery novel with twists and turns, deception and revelations. So much fun to read! CJ and Laurel are so cute together! And sexy too! The playfulness they have with each other is awww worthy. The title may be "A Silver Wolf Christmas" but Christmas doesn't actually happen until the end of the book and it was a great way to bring together all the bits and pieces of the story line to a very satisfying ending. I just loved this one! Can't wait to read the next book!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Shifter Christmas with a dash of Ghosts First off, you do not need to read the previous books to enjoy this really good Christmas werewolf romance. There seem to be couples from previous books in the story, but you don't need to know their story to enjoy this one. The three MacTire sisters were a little hard to keep separated at times. Being introduced to them in such quick succession made them all sort of roll into one for me and it took awhile before I was able to separate them into their own individuals. They have very similar personalities, maybe they become more distinct in later books? I did love them. I loved their tenacity in trying to find their aunt, and how loyal they were to each other - with just enough bickering to keep it a little interesting. C.J. was all big bad wolf - in a good way. Willing to anything to prove to Laurel that he's the right wolf for her, he goes out of his way to make her feel at home in Silver Town. Their little adventure-dates were soooo much fun. I wish I could do every single one of them. I could really see their connection. It grew in a very natural way, which can sometimes be hard to find in a romance book. They became friends, then lovers, then more. I loved it. The mystery surrounding the inn, the sisters, and the ghost hunter wasn't so much fun. At times it was a little hard to follow. There were just enough creepy and scary moments to add that nice element to the story though. I really liked the little twist at the end for the ghost story - it was a really nice finishing touch. *This book was received in exchange for an honest review*

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Christmas Wolf Style Welcome to Christmas wolf shifter style! Spear creates an exciting and fun story that kept me on my toes while taking me deep into the world of her unforgettable characters. The underlying current of mystery had me trying to puzzle it out while also enjoying my foray into this wolfy world. She uses descriptions to advantage, developing characters you can picture & feel as if you know, and settings that come to life, but leaving room for your imagination to run wild in this fantastic world. Spear develops her concept of wolf shifters well. She really lets readers know what it means to be one, how the pack works, and other cultural details. Laurel’s questioning and secretive nature combines with her need to let loose and be a wolf. CJ’s persistence was so perfectly man infatuated meets wolf gets what he wants. He was the perfect hero for Laurel’s story and a great sub-leader for the pack. The intriguing family and pack dynamics show just how close the cast of characters in this novel are. I love how many of the wolf shifters try to explain way anything supernatural, refusing to believe in the possibility. Also, the way that they keep humans from moving into the areal made me giggle. Spear has definitely created a welcoming Christmas novel with a spooky feel at times that really makes the story stand out. It’s a great addition to the series and also a novel that can be read as a standalone. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
