about

New York Times and USA Today Bestseller

When a devilish lord and a bluestocking set off on the road to ruin . . . time is not on their side.

Minerva Highwood, one of Spindle Cove's confirmed spinsters, needs to be in Scotland.

Colin Sandhurst, Lord Payne, a rake of the first order, needs to be . . . anywhere but Spindle Cove.

These unlikely partners have one week:

to fake an elopement
to convince family and friends they're "in love"
to outrun armed robbers
to survive their worst nightmares
to travel four hundred miles without killing each other

All while sharing a very small carriage by day and an even smaller bed by night.

What they don't have time for is their growing attraction. Much less wild passion. And heaven forbid they spend precious hours baring their hearts and souls.

Suddenly one week seems like exactly enough time to find a world of trouble. And maybe . . . just maybe . . . everlasting love.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from so cute Man, I am really liking Tessa Dare! This was freaking adorable. the heroine was bold and smart and the hero was appropriately guilty and torn up without being brooding (he was actually really charming) and they had some of the best conversations! I wanted more when I finished but I suppose I will have to be content with reading the next Spindle Cove book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from you'll need more than a week to get over this read; A WEEK TO BE WICKED was everything. Perfection. A sorta-hate-to-love story for two complete opposites : the bookish shrewish scientist and the unapologetic rake.. with a dark tragic past. This tale was hilarious and sweet and wonderful and poignant. The strangest, best, most unbelievably sexy Regency-era roadtrip ever. Likely the only sexy Regency roadtrip ever (maybe? I don't know, who even cares, this was the best). The flirty math banter. Polysyllabic words. Sword swallowing. Francine. Cobra taming. Mellisandre the foreign princess assassin. Other random bits that will make no sense to someone who hasn't read this yet.. (and I mean, what are you waiting for!) This is pure classic Dare but almost in a more subtle way; the humour is still laugh out loud, though less from outright ridiculousness, and the chemistry is crazy believable. While this series is very different from Castles Ever After, which has forever put Dare on a pedestal that even the author herself is unlikely to top, I can't help but be totally enchanted with these amazing spinsters and the men who fall helplessly, and desperately, for them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Enchanting A Week to be Wicked was totally enchanting. I loved being part of Minerva and Colin's romance. Minerva is a nerdy, independent scientist who desperately wants to be recognized in her field of geology. Colin is a rake putting in time in Spindle Cove until he can collect his inheritance. The directness of their interactions was a nice change of pace for a historical. There was no dithering and to and fro. They both knew pretty quickly how they felt and what they wanted it was just a matter of how they got there. I liked that Dare didn't dumb down Minerva and she was no simpering lady she was strong, outspoken and not afraid to take risks and that Colin loved her because of these things not in spite of them. Colin has his own demons and reasons for being who he is and it was sweet the way Minerva just accepted him as he was. A Week to be Wicked was humorous - I think I read most of the book with a smile on my face. Minerva and Colin's inner dialogs were wonderfully entertaining. I loved it so much I had to go back and reread some of my favorite parts because I just wasn't ready to leave Spindle Cove and Minerva and Colin yet. I can't wait for A Lady by Midnight which is Thorne and Kate's installment of Spindle Cove.
