Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun Quick Read This was a great read; I read it in a single day. The plot did kind of drag around the middle and the ending wrapped everything up very nicely

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A Fun, Original Story I liked this book. Unfortunately, I didn't love it, but I did find it to be an engaging story that I was able to read almost in one sitting. I didn't care for how it was written, though. The chapters were extremely short, cut off at almost random places, and at times were little more than a page or two in length. One chapter in particular consisted of a handful of paragraphs. This book could have been twenty chapters, at most, but instead, Donnelly dragged it out in shorter and shorter chapters until she reached a staggering sixty-seven (not including the prologue and epilogue). Also, I didn't enjoy the new live-action film as much as I'd hoped, so perhaps that affected my perception of this book, as well, but overall, I simply didn't love it. Unfortunately, I don't think it will be a re-read for me, either. I would, however, recommend this book to fans of Jennifer Donnelly, Disney's live-action "Beauty And The Beast", or a reader seeking a fun, quick read with which to pass the hours.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Read I liked the idea of literally getting lost in a book. I'm not so fond of turning Death and Love into people and using them in the story. It seems a little amateurish to me. I would have perhaps accepted the appearance of the Enchantress in some way. Other than that it was a well thought out story and an example of the grass not always being greener on the other side and not all is as it seems and that if it's too good to be true than it probably is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Page turner Easy to devour in a day. Certainly a nice addition to a bookshelf. Slightly hard for me to imagine the characters from the animated Disney movie in a book while trying to imagine the live action characters as they are portrayed ( have yet to watch the movie )but I think I did well #plumreview
