Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another great book by Dana Marton Epic fantasy is not my genre of choice, BUT, I love Dana Marton’s other books so I had to read this one. I read Reluctant Concubine (book 1 in the Hardstorm Saga) when it was first published as The Third Scroll. While it took me a bit to get into that book such was not the case with Accidental Sorceress. Perhaps that is because I was already familiar with the fantasy world that Dana has created but I’m not sure – I just know that once I started reading this book I did not want to stop. I became quite unsettled when real life intruded and I was forced to leave the world that surrounds Tera and Batumar. I think this story was even more captivating than the first one. Tera really comes into her own during this story and her strength, which we saw glimpses of in the first book, really shines in this one. I love all of the characters, and there are many new ones in this story. There is quite a bit of suspense in several areas, and even when I thought I might know what was going to happen my enjoyment of getting to the reveal wasn’t diminished one little bit. There were also many surprises that I certainly didn’t see coming. This book didn’t have much romance in it but what is there is excellent. Just like the first book, this one doesn’t really end in a cliffhanger (the main story is resolved) but I really want to read more about this world that Dana has created. I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
