Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweeping I'm so sad this book has become so hard to find in print. It was assigned reading in my International Security class in university and I have never stopped recommending it to anyone who has the slightest interest in the Arctic. It's essentially an overview of all aspects of the Arctic (political, economic, cultural, environmental) and how what is decided in the south has the greatest bearing on what happens in the north. It's written in an eminently readable style and paints an interesting and important narrative.
