Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Psychopath that will capture your interest immediately This book was a #1 seller across the board, and for good reason! The book is mainly about Alex Cross (FBI detective) and his struggles with the death of his wife. However I didn't exactly connect with Cross, not because he wasn't a well developed character or anything like that, but because I found the villain to be the character that I wanted to connect with. Michael Sullivan AKA 'the butcher' is a complex character that you would almost find endearing if he wasn't a serial killer. He is the backbone to this being a truly great novel. The story is told through both of these characters perspectives and it certainly adds to the interest in the story. The writing style is very clean and defined. I love that the chapters are short and sweet. The ending is great and leaves you wanting to read another Patterson book. Overall, I would recommend this book as an interesting and captivating read that will keep you entertained and won't let you down.
