about

To mark the 450th book in the Men-at-Arms series we return to the subject of the very first book in the series, which was published nearly 35 years ago. Author of 27 other Men-at-Arms titles René Chartrand uses newly discovered material to offer a more modern analysis of the American Provincial Corps in this book, American Loyalist Troops. This book will provide updated and comprehensive information on unit identities, commanders, strengths, areas of enlistment, combat record, tactics, uniforms and equipment.

Ren_ Chartrand was born in Montreal and educated in Canada, the United States and the Bahamas. A senior curator with Canada's National Historic Sites for nearly three decades, he is now a freelance writer and historical consultant. He has written numerous articles and books including over 30 Osprey titles. The author lives in Gatineau,...

Editorial Reviews

"A book that rightly belongs on the shelf of any American Revolutionary War enthusiast and one that provides a bit more insight into that conflict of over 200 years past. Highly recommended." -Scott Van Aken, modelingmadness.com (September 2008)
