Louisa May Alcott was an American novelist. According to literary fiction and researchers, she has introduced the phrase "the curse of the mummy." During the Civil War she served as a nurse in a military hospital in Georgetown. In 1863, in revised form it was published letters to relatives that she sent from the hospital, and this book has brought her first fame. ‘An Old-Fashioned Girl’ is a novel by Louisa May Alcott that was initially published in 1870. It tells us about a young girl Polly Milton who visits her rich cousins in the city while being a simple-hearted country girl, brought up in the spirit of virtue and duty. She has been taught to see the best side of every human being, but it’s hard of her to appreciate the characters of her cousins whose behavior doesn’t resemble that one of virtuous persons
