In this Mean Girls meets The Perks of Being a Wallflower tale, narrator Anika Dragomir is the third-most-popular girl at Pound High School. But inside, she knows she’s a freak; she can’t stop thinking about former loner Logan McDonough, who showed up on the first day of tenth grade hotter, bolder, and more mysterious than ever.

Logan is fascinating, troubled, and off limits. The Pound High queen bee will make Anika’s life hell if she’s seen with him.

So Anika must choose—ignore her feelings and keep her social status? Or follow her heart and risk becoming a pariah. Which will she pick? And what will she think of her choice when an unimaginable tragedy strikes, changing her forever? An absolutely original new voice in YA in a story that will start important conversations—and tear at your heart.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from UHHH Book started off pretty um eh for me. Didnt really enjoy the writing of the book that much. But loved the romance story. the UHHH title for the review comes from the total unexpected ending to the book. I feel like there should be a second book !!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I Absolutely Loved It! (4.5 Stars) This is one of my favourite YA novels! The writing was witty and blunt at times which made it even better! I just couldn't believe the ending I was so heartbroken, nonetheless I loved it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Review from This is the Story of My(Reading) Life This one started off a little rough. Anika, the MC, was kind of hard to like. She's pretty much an asshole. But she had my laughing. Than I quickly came to realize how relatable she is. Anika embodies and showcases every insecurity a teenager has. Or at least I had. She did and said stupid things, even when she knew how wrong she was doing or saying those things. Being a douchebag is part of the being a teenager. Unfortunately. Anika had heart though. And she's a really clever girl. The story took a really horrific turn that I really was hoping wouldn't come to fruition. Even through some tears, the ending was uplifting. I thoroughly loved Portes' witty and sarcastic writing as well.
