A Caldecott Honor title, this is a charming and touching story of a young boy whose library visit and imagination send him on a wonderful meeting with the lion he reads about. The boy and the lion bond in an act of kindness. Written in 1938, the unique illustrations provide a further insightful glimpse of life at that time.
