The daughter of actor John Voight and actress Marcheline Bertrand, Angelina Jolie was raised between New York and Los Angeles, Jolie's interest in acting took hold early in life, though her teen years were mostly spent modeling and appearing in various music videos as well as small theater productions.

Jolie swept the awards, earning a third Golden Globe, a second Screen Actors Guild Award and her first Academy Award for her supporting role in Girl, Interrupted.

 

Jolie is also heavily involved in humanitarian efforts, becoming involved with UNHCR, traveling all over the world on filed missions and donating money to various relief organizations. Jolie also co-founded the Jolie-Pitt Foundation with her domestic partner, actor Brad Pitt.
