about

The Earth is being invaded, but no one knows about it. When Jake, Rachel, Tobias, Cassie, and Marco stumble upon a downed alien spaceship and its dying pilot, they're given an incredible power-they can transform into any animal they touch. With it, they become Animorphs, the unlikely champions in a secret war for the planet. And the enemies they're fighting could be anyone, even the people closest to them. So begins K. A. Applegate's epic series about five normal kids with a limitless amount of forms and abilities.
K. A. Applegate is the author of the bestselling Animorphs series, as well as the Remnants and Everworld series, Home of the Brave, and the Roscoe Riley Rules series. She lives in Irvine, California.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Throwback! Animorphs was sooo good. It's a kids series but its surprisingly deep. It's a story about a group of young teens fighting a covert alien invasion. It's essentially a war story and it does not shy away from tackling war related issues despite its targeted age group. There's PTSD, sacrifice, death and loneliness and isolation. Kids should definitely be reading this.

Read from the Book

From Animorphs #1: The InvasionMy name is Jake. That's my first name, obviously. I can't tell you my last name. It would be too dangerous. The Controllers are everywhere. Everywhere. And if they knew my full name, they could find me and my friends, and then... well, let's just say I don't want them to find me. What they do to people who resist them is too horrible to think about.I won't even tell you where I live. You'll just have to trust me that it is a real place, a real town. It may even be your town.
