In the spring of 1998, Koichi Sakakibara transfers into Class 3-3 at Yomiyama North Middle School. But little does he know...his new class has a horrible secret. When he takes his seat in class for the first day of school, Koichi is unsettled by his fearful classmates. Despite this atmosphere and warnings from fellow students, Koichi is drawn to the beautiful, distant Mei Misaki, another classmate. But the closer he tries to get to her, the more mysterious she and their class become. And when a fellow student dies a disturbing death - the first of a long chain of deaths - Koichi seeks to learn the truth behind the curse of Class 3-3. But can he get answers before the curse kills him?

Customer Reviews of Another

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent creepy tale This is a fabulous horror story. I don't want to tell you too much about it. It is better to go in blind and let the story form around you as you read. I read this in one sitting. It's an addictive read.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from one of those stories you should go into completely blind and just let it sweep you up. If you like creepy Japaneses high school stories with characters that are pretty messed up and a main character is so naive at times you wonder how they survive the rest of the book? Then you'd like Another, but be warned Another is good, really good but it's slow, really slow at first. Nothing happens until page 151. Literally nothing, the main character is in a new school with kids that act weird and that's it until page 151. Then all hell breaks lose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great novel This was a great book and it is less scarier than the actual anime

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For lovers of horror If you love a story that is plot driven and keeps you guessing and picking your brain trying to solve the mystery before you reach the ending then this is for you. It's creepy and the art is very nice. One of the best horrors that I've read as well as watched. I unfortunately did not obtain a hard cover of Another and got the paperback which is more expensive for some reason. It's a really hefty book so I would recommend getting the hard cover if you want to preserve the pages as I feel the paperback is too flimsy for it's weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the physical copy, it's hardcover! Great novel, it provides a lot of detail/explanation compared to the anime and manga. I enjoyed reading it and I love how it's hardcover, it's very strong and it looks nice in general. I've been waiting so long for an English translation of this novel and tried to get it when it came out, I'm really glad I bought this. #plumreview

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's really horrifying and I love it I really enjoy reading horror, and this is exactly what I've been wanting to read for so long. It's a great read and actually scared me a few times. I may consider buying it in the future but my only problem with the physical copy is that the cover is too thin and could get folded easily, I wish it was hardcover ( or just a stronger paperback cover ). I own the novel version which is probably the best and I've seen the novel, anime and manga. They're all great and give all the versions a try if you haven't.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you like being creeped out I'm not into horror, like at all, but I ended up watching the anime and was just obsessed afterwards. Once I found I out it had a manga I went running to indigo to buy it and I just couldn't put it down! Definitely a must read!
