about

Carlo Aldrovandi presents an original analysis of Israeli Religious Zionism and US Christian Zionism by focusing on the messianic and millenarian drives that form the basis of their political mobilization towards a 'Jewish colonization' of the Occupied Territories. The religious–political engagement of these two prominent religious movements represent a still under-researched aspect that is, at present, paramount to address for its repercussions on the highly volatile Israeli–Palestinian issue, the wider Middle East and the interfaith relations between Judaism, Christianity and Islam. This study would be of interest to scholars, diplomats and practitioners as it examines the interplay between modern religion and politics in a part of the world where myths about the end of the world have often bent reality.
