Rated 3 out of 5 by from Arthur's Pet Business (Arthur Adventure Series) (Arthur Adventure Series) Arthur wants a pet dog more than anything, and his parents decide he may get one if he proves he’s responsible. He opens up a pet sitting business and takes care of many neighbourhood pets. The worst of them all is Perky, better known as Jaws by the mailman. Arthur dedicates himself to the business and at the end of the week, Perky has puppies and he gets to keep one. This story was very cute and showed that hard work really does pay off! Arthur persevered through a very stressful weekend of caring for other peoples pets. It has many great lessons that children should learn and is told in a way I believe children will connect with and understand. I think this book would be great to read aloud to a class at the beginning of the school year when discussing characteristics of good students because responsibility is important in learning. You could ask students how they can be responsible in the classroom.
