about

Assassin's Creed: The Secret Crusade is the thrilling novelisation by Oliver Bowden based on the game series. Niccolò Polo, father of Marco, will finally reveal the story he has kept secret all his life - the story of Altaïr, one of the brotherhood's most extraordinary Assassins. Altaïr embarks on a formidable mission - one that takes him throughout the Holy Land and shows him the true meaning of the Assassin's Creed. To demonstrate his commitment, Altaïr must defeat nine deadly enemies, including Templar leader, Robert de Sable. Altaïr's life story is told here for the first time: a journey that will change the course of history; his ongoing battle with the Templar conspiracy; a family life that is as tragic as it is shocking; and the ultimate betrayal of an old friend. Assassin's Creed: The Secret Crusade is based on the phenomenally successful gaming series. Oliver Bowden is the pen-name of an acclaimed novelist.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For the fans Got this for a friend who loves the video games and they seemed quite pleased with it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Altaïr & Maria Altaïr and Maria are my favourite AC couple. The fact that they even got together seemed so unprobable and yet so perfect. That moment in the game when you realize you're fighting a woman (and a sassy one at that) added dimension. I only wish that what's written in this book was in a sequel to the first AC game. This book doesn't really detail what happened in the game. Whats great is it explores what happened after the game finished with some added chapters of what happened on the side in the game storyline. FANTASTIC rendition especially if you're keen on knowing how Maria managed to warm a cold assassin's heart

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Enjoyable I rather enjoyed reading it. i felt it was a nice mix of action with a little bit of a love story. i was half way throw the game finding it rather boring but now i wish to restart it because i better understand the back to story to how and why Altair had to go through what he had too. I can't wait to buy the other 2 then replay the games afterwards :P

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Well...*spoilers* I'm gonna be brutally honest here. The book wasn't all that great. A bit sloppy on the writing, too many periods, and the awkward use of the word 'now'. Plus, killing off one of Altair's friends? May I say, pretty brutally too. His head was cut off! Don't waste your money guys, just read the updates on the wiki page.
