about

There are a few things Jeremy Marsh was sure he'd never do: he'd never leave New York City; never give his heart away again after barely surviving one failed marriage; and, most of all, never become a parent. Now, Jeremy is living in the tiny town of Boone Creek, North Carolina, married to Lexie Darnell, the love of his life, and anticipating the birth of their daughter. But just as his life seems to be settling into a blissful pattern, an unsettling and mysterious message re-opens old wounds and sets off a chain of events that will forever change the course of this young couple's marriage.

Dramatic, heartbreaking and surprising, this is a story about the love between a man and a woman and between a parent and a child. More than that, it is a story that beautifully portrays how the same emotion that can break your heart is also the one that will ultimately heal it.

While the novel picks up the tale of Lexie Darnell and Jeremy Marsh that started inTrue Believerand will delight fans of that novel, it stands on its own as one of Nicholas Sparks's most deeply moving love stories.
With over 100 million copies of his books sold, Nicholas Sparks is one of the world's most beloved storytellers. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Sequel I thought this book was a really good sequel. If you can read the first book then this one. If not you can still follow the plot but not as well, I would imagine, like with any sequel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from At First Sight I hadn't realized this was a sequel. I was still able to follow what was going on, but now I want to read True Believer. There were some parts in the novel that I felt didn't really fit, such as all of Jeremy's trust issues etc. at the beginning. Then suddenly they have one conversation and he's blissfully happy and satisfied. Maybe I just need to read the first part of this story.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Bittersweet Story After meeting Lexie Darnell a short time ago in Boone Creek, Jeremy Marsh finds himself packing up his life in New York and moving to the small town in North Carolina to be with Lexie, who is now his fiance and carrying his miracle baby. When Lexie and Jeremy should be happy and enjoying their life together, the opposite is happening. A writers block is causing Jeremy to be frustrated, and mysterious e-mails questioning his decision to be with Lexie leave him on edge. Except the worst is yet to come, leaving jeremy questioning his faith and love. I found this book very touching and emotional, which isn't a surprise when it comes to any of Nicholas Sparks' books. After about halfway through, the book headed into a direction i was not expecting. I found At First Sight to be a bittersweet book, Although it is filled with Betrayal and Tragedy, It is also filled with Healing, Love, and Self Growth. Nicholas Sparks is known for his tear-jerkers so like any other of his books, make sure the kleenex is nearby because they will be needed. I also thought that Sparks did a great job writing about what couples really go through during marriage and pregnancy, it wasn't sugar coated. I found it very real, and I'm sure some woman or men could relate. Overall i find this book another great one by Nicholas Sparks. I would even like a third installment of these books. I would recommed this book to any sparks fan, True Believer and At First sight were very enjoyable reads.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another good book I read this book and after I finished it I realized that True Believer was the first book and this was a sequel. However I felt this book really stood on its own but I will read True Believer so I understand this one more. The end was heartbreaking but it really added the whole meaning behind the story. This book really made me think about what I would do in that situation, which I find is what most Nicholas Sparks books do.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very emotional This book was very emotional, inspirational and lovely. It's about a man who promised himself several things in life, such as never leaving NYC or getting remarried. However, as love comes along, he learns that he can no longer keep those promises. He moves to a small town, marries and has a child. However, an emotional set of events occurs causing him to take on a bigger role. This book will surely make you cry and is one of the best love stories I have ever read.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Be Sure to Have Tissues In Reach I seriously cried the minute I closed the book at the end. The title of the book is more significant than you think. I believe this is Nicholas Sparks' best novel to date. Be sure to read True Believer first though...
