Some things won't stay buried . . . at grave's end

It should be the best time of half-vampire Cat Crawfield's life. With her undead lover Bones at her side, she's successfully protected mortals from the rogue undead. But though Cat's worn disguise after disguise to keep her true identity a secret from the brazen bloodsuckers, her cover's finally been blown, placing her in terrible danger.

As if that wasn't enough, a woman from Bones's past is determined to bury him once and for all. Caught in the crosshairs of a vengeful vamp, yet determined to help Bones stop a lethal magic from being unleashed, Cat's about to learn the true meaning of bad blood. And the tricks she's learned as a special agent won't help her. She will need to fully embrace her vampire instincts in order to save herself—and Bones—from a fate worse than the grave.

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jeaniene Frost lives with her husband and their very spoiled dog in Florida. Although not a vampire herself, she confesses to having pale skin, wearing a lot of black, and sleeping in late whenever possible. And while she can?t see ghosts, she loves to walk through old cemeteries. Jeanien...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cat and Bones - the ultimate couple - the saga continues This series just keeps on getting better. The relationship between Cat and Bones is constantly evolving. There are plenty of plot twists and as always, new characters to compliment the story. As we are introduced to Vlad we can then slowly realize his background. It is amazing to see his relationship between Cat and Bones and himself. I really like Menchere in this book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An emotionally charged read! This is my absolute favorite book of the series. Cat and Bones's troubles seem to multiply with each book. Every adventure is crazier than the next and Cat's dialog gets funnier and funnier. Bones is a total dream boat and actually became my steady book boyfriend in this book. With new enemies comes new allies. Mencheres (Bones's grandsire) enlists the help of Vlad Tepesh. That's right, THE Dracula. But don't let him here you say that or you may have to forfeit your life. Bones and Vlad have a mysterious past that's left them enemies, but with the evil power that's being unleashed, animosities must be pushed aside. Many terrible things happen in this book and one in particular is completely devastating. I can't tell you how many times I've reread this book and I still choke up every time I read this particular scene. Cat and Bones continue to be brilliant and we see a lot of secondary characters get more page time. One of the many reason I love this series so much is that the secondary characters are so vital to each story line they don't feel secondary. Each character is crafted so beautifully you can almost believe these are real people. If you love sexy vampires with accents, a strong female heroine with fire in her veins (and her hair), and a love so powerful it defies all odds, including death; then this is the series for you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rounding up from 3.5 This installment of Cat and Bones is action packed. There were many new characters introduced and while some of them made sense others just seemed like dragon fodder. The interaction between Tate, Bones and Cat was pretty entertaining but I am hoping that storyline has almost run its course. I don't want to see them cover the same ground through the whole series. Vlad was a nice addition to the cast. Frost also shows she's not afraid to kill off characters that fans might like. Having said that I think the new characters could have been fleshed out more and it would have made for a more well rounded book. I did love Cat in this one - she really shows what she is made of.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderfully Entertaining Cat has lost her secret edge over the paranormal world; she has become too well recognized. Cat is being hunted by someone who’s trying hard to keep their identity secret. Then Bones past comes back to threatened both of them and their future. Frost once again does a fantastic job with the third instalment of the Night Huntress Series. The woman knows how to write steamy scenes. Cat and Bones are a fantastic couple and Cat’s hard headedness and sarcasm is incredibly entertaining. Read it, love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Frost can do no wrong! Wow! Book 3 in the Night Huntress series is so action packed, I think I raced through it at about 90MPH! I literally couldn't put it down for a minute. This series is so good, I love each new book better then the last! I loved how this one played out and I LOVED Frost's take on the most famous vampire of them all! Highly recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Steamalicious! I love this series. So much of this kind of supernatural romance is such fluff. Really just formula writing to give someone a good time. Not these books though! These books are well thought out with solid characters and fluid plots. Not only that, they are HOT. Yes indeed. I don't know of too many other who can write a sex scene like Frost can. Such an ironic last name for such a steamy writer. However, while still a great read, I would not say this third installment was quite on par with the first two. It got a little Twilightish at a few point, leaning a little too close to whiney self pity. There were also a few strange errors regarding geography. American writers really don't seem to know anything about Canada. The mains end up in BC for a while and the description of their location just doesn't mesh with where they are supposed to be. But beyond those few moments where I just sort of shook my head and carried on, it really is a great read and I do look forward to the next book in the series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it! HOT, HOT, HOT! Cat and Bones relationship has had its rough times and it will be tested once again. They are now married by vampire law but Cat will continue with the job she loves. However, Cats cover is too known and she goes through many styles to help her blend, but she never really succeeds. A woman from Bones past will show up and Cat must once again untangle the dangerous web her life has turned into even if it involves acknowledging her vampire side.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from the power of love This is the third book in the night huntress series by Jeaniene Frost. I loved it but it was my least favorite of the three. *************SPOILERS******************* Cat and bones are back and they are more in love than ever, and by vampire law they are now husband and wife. They are still kicking vampire ass with the help of their team but it's getting tougher since most vampires now know of the "red reaper" and it is putting cat in horriable danger not to mention make bones go crazy mad! Her mother calls her to discuss wedding plans which surprises both cat and bones since it's a known fact that she hates bones and all vampires because of what max(cat's father)did to her once upon a time. Still family is family so cat goes to see her mother and when she does it almost destroy's her. Someone again is trying to kill her but this time it's not someone cat knows, it's an old lover from bones's past, and she wants him dead and buired so the key to him is cat. The vampire's name is Patra and she is one of the most powerful master vampires known, and she knows how to use magic and that is a big no-no in the vampire world. Now cat must try to forget everything she has learned as a human and go into full vampire mode to fight Patra and keep bones, her team and herself alive because what would be worse than loosing someone she loves.? This novel has alot of characters from the first two books and introduces us to some fun and scary as hell new ones. Can't wait to read the next book "destined for an early grave" and to read more about the hot and sexy bones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Fun & Exciting Adventure This series is a must read for any vampire fan and even non vampire fans. Cat & Bones will have you glued to your seat until the very end. Cat's identity is blown putting her in danger. A woman from Bone's past is gunning to bury him once and for all. Cat will have to embrace her vampire instincts in order to save those she loves. This latest adventure will have you cheering on the best paranormal couple since Edward & Bella.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Action-Packed! This is the third book in the Night Huntress series. Holy stressful! Lots of masters and betrayers are in this story. New vampires are created to help Cat and her team. But are their hearts in the right place? A new enemy, Patra, will stop at nothing to accomplish her goals. Patra is very old and one of the deadliest vampires out there. She not only has her super strength, speed, and other vampire traits, but she is also fluent in witchcraft. Read more at:

Rated 5 out of 5 by from And Frost does it again... Another amazing sequel to the Night Huntress series. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better and better This series has just sucked me right in and blown me away. There is nothing i can say here that hasn't been said before really. Its face paced, sexy, gory, and every installment takes you deeper into Cat and Bones' psyche. There is actual character development which i love, rather than cookie cutter romance characters repeating the same mistakes over and over again with no regard to what has come before and adjustment of thought and reaction patterns because of it. I just started the fourth book, and i bought the whole series to date three days ago. Yes, its that good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Red Reaper Strikes Again At Grave’s End is the 3rd instalment of the Night Huntress Novels. Cat and Bones continue to be a great couple with huge chemistry between them. Their relationship is evolving to a more emotional deepening love. Cat the half vampire half human is finding that staying undercover is becoming more difficult. The undead refer her as “Red Reaper”. Cat has been getting more recognized and it’s affecting her ability to carry out missions as a government assassin. There are some twists in this story about her team that was not to be expected but added to the story. Cat’s father Max is back and he are bent on killing Cat even if it goes against his Master Ian. Max describes his shame of having a half-breed daughter killing his kind. There is a vampire war starting and is headed by an ancient vampire named Patra who uses magical powers and is the most evil villain to date. She unleashes a powerful evil that had my jaw drop. The team is bent on killing Patra and some vamps that are under Bone’s rule come help with the cause. There are also some other vamps who join the team including Bone’s Grandsire and a famous vamp from history. There are some scenes in this book that had me crying. There is a part that Cat is standing on cliff that had me gripping my book, and an unlikely person who helps her through this. The book is far more dark and emotionally charged that the previous two. After reading this book, the darkness is necessary in continuing the story. For me the series just keeps getting better. People are complaining that there isn’t as much “sex scenes” in this book. After book 2, how can you top that one? But the passion is still there. The way Cat describes Bones in the bondage club and noticing how his tongue is pierced made me see more passion from that statement than some of their sex scenes. I’m eagerly awaiting the release of the 4th book, to be released July 28th.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't seem to get enough Cat and Bones now! Being the third book in Frost's Night Huntress Novels, i had expectations and i figured i'd like it as much as the first and second, but here i am now finished the third and left wanting SO MUCH MORE because it is no longer liking that i feel but LOVE - I LOVE IT!!!! Thankfully I will not have to wait to long for the next installement but i don't know how any other Cat and Bones fans have survived the wait this long!!! This series is so much fun! You have fantastic comedy, great characters, fantastic action, and let us not forget there is the perfect amount of romance/sex/raunch whatever you want to call it!!! As this is the third book in a series, it is very difficult to give details about the story without giving away spoilers and ruining it for potential readers! So basically, this is what i am going to say - Someone is out to get Bones, and this someone is stopping at nothing and going to any length to make sure Bones doesn't survive. At points this novel is a rough read for readers because you get so invested in the series and our two fav characters get put through the ringer more than a few times in this particular novel. I know that's not much to go on, but i refuse to give any more details than that adding of course that we meet some new characters in this tale, we get to see the fate of Cat's biological father (big smile on my face), and finally Cat's mother is not as horrendous in this book as she was in the past novels - she still drives me nuts but she does give us readers some funny moments! That's all i'm telling you! So i apologize if this review isn't up to my normal review "standards" , all due to various reasons, but i figured i should at least tease you guys into reading this novel or looking into reading this series. IT IS FANTASTIC FUN TO READ!!! Enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did NOT disappoint! Wow, just another great read from Frost, I'm impressed. There was no stop when this book started. Twists and turns just like every other novel in this series. The only thing that bothered me was Tate and I hope we see much less of him in the next novels. One aspect of this novel that I loved was finally seeing the true love, devotion and care that Bones and Cat have for one another. I cannot wait for the next in the series and will be rushing out to buy it. I could not put this book down it was fast paced, edgy and hot. If you loved Halfway to the grave and One foot in the grave, you will not be disappointed in this novel. Frost is in a league of her own along with the amazing character that is Bones, not many fictional characters measure up to him!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lacking in Romance Yet Still Fantastic Though still among favourites like all of Jeaniene Frost's work I did find that there didn't seem to be a lot of romance between Bones and Cat. The plot was excellent though and I couldn't put it down. One of the best aspects of the book was the real look at Bones and Cat's relationship. You could really see how much they cared for each if for some reason it seems you couldn't tell before. Once again I have fallen in love with Bones and Cat and cannot wait for the next one!!
