When thieves find an abandoned child lying in a monster’s footprint, they have no idea that their wilderness discovery will change the course of history.
Cloaked in mystery, Auralia grows up among criminals outside the walls of House Abascar, where vicious beastmen lurk in shadow. There, she discovers an unsettling--and forbidden--talent for crafting colors that enchant all who behold them, including Abascar’s hard-hearted king, an exiled wizard, and a prince who keeps dangerous secrets. When Auralia’s gift opens doors from the palace to the dungeons, she sets the stage for violent and miraculous change in the great houses of the Expanse.
Auralia’s Colors weaves literary fantasy together with poetic prose, a suspenseful plot, adrenaline-rush action, and unpredictable characters sure to enthrall ambitious imaginations.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Buying this to read again The author opens up a wild & fantastic world with a quirky young heroine who seeks to bring color and light back into a dulled land. Full of rich characters, an imaginative world, strange creatures, and an intriguing plot, I recommend this to any reader who's looking for a story like nothing they've ever read. The beginning of a very epic fantasy series perfect for those looking for something along the lines of Tolkien or Lewis. I am buying the series to re-read and enjoy the deep plot all over again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from horribly disappointing i'm a type of person who judges what she reads on what the cover looks like. if the cover catches my eye i pick it up adn read teh back to see if would be interested. so wehn i saw this cover in chapters i thought it look quite interesting so i read the back and it caught my interest. i just finished it and i think i only finished it because i haev never not finished a book. it was horrible. the plot is confusing, the characters lack personality, the writing is mediocore and the book had no hold on my interest. i don't reccomend this at all it was a waste of money and time i found...the actual idea behind the story could be an interesting story but the wya it was written just didn't hold up anyways very disappointed
