This is translation from Russian of "Autodidactics" by Valery Kourinsky, educator, translator from dozens of languages, scientist, founder of PostPsychology, poet, musician and philosopher. After the first publication the book became a bestseller and was reissued four times. Demand for the "Autodidactics" is constantly growing.
The book has the format of lectures, which were delivered by the author at Kyiv State Shevchenko University in 1991. It is a part of the new direction in science – PostPsychology, on which Valery Kourinsky worked most of his life. PostPsychological Autodidactics focuses on self-education techniques. It was created at the junction of pedagogy, philosophy, culture and many ancient and modern cognitive systems.
The book is a wonderful guide for anyone seeking to build his/her existence on the basis of world culture, who wants to know methods of introspection, of efficient life and how to fill it with spiritual content. Particular support this publication will provide to those, who want to learn several European languages, to read literature masterpieces in them, to prepare for mastering Eastern languages such as Chinese, Japanese, Arabic and later using them as a tool for studies in all fields.
Valery Kourinsky passed away in 2015 and did not participate in preparing this book but he consulted a great deal when its translation took place in 2001-2002. The English translation preserves many stylistic features of the original.
Translated by Yuriy Besarab, 2002 – 2016
