A paranormal category romance from Entangled's Covet imprint...

Some consequences bite...big time.

Bennett Langdon has a firm no-relationships policy. Still, it doesn't stop her from hooking up with a super-sexy bad boy at her best friend's wedding. After all, it's only one night-what harm could it do? Ten weeks later, a pregnant Bennett has her answer...

Linc Monahan can't believe it. This wasn't supposed to happen. He's a werewolf, and shouldn't be able to father a child with a human. Now Linc has to find some way to tell Bennett that not only do werewolves exist, but she's about to have a baby with one.

But when word of their surprise conception gets out, the fur hits the fan. There are people who don't want this baby to be born-even if it means killing. Now Bennett and Linc aren't just fighting each other...they're fighting for their lives.

Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Funny 3.5 Stars When I read the blurb for this book, I expected the kind of battles and struggles for power that I've come to expect from paranormal romance, but I wasn't very disappointed that it was not the case. A spontaneous decision to enjoy a one night stand at their best friends' wedding ends in long term consequences for Linc Monahan and Bennett Langdon and also the revelation that Bennett may not be completely human herself. Turns out she belongs to a group of supernaturals who have been at war with Linc's people for centuries and the pregnancy could potentially unravel the tenuous peace agreement that has been in place for that long. Not like she cares. Linc and Bennett were a very enjoyable couple, with great chemistry and very hilarious and sometimes snarky banter. I absolutely adored Bennett's irreverence and the fact that she did not fawn over Linc. For two people were not interested in relationships, having a baby together was a huge change in their lives and they had to learn to trust each other and also trust in the love they had for each other, not an easy feat with those pregnancy hormones! I have to say that Linc was great with Bennett - patient, understanding and very protective. However, I was a bit let down that the promise of some supernatural rumbling did not come to pass. I spite of that, I still had a fun time reading BABY'S GOT BITE. A word of warning: Do not read in public due to the amount of laughter inducing dialogue. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall a quick, fun read that will make you smile. Review Courtesy of All Things Urban Fantasy: I love paranormal romance books that don’t take themselves too seriously. I always find that it’s easier to get through a book when I am laughing, and BABY’S GOT BITE had plenty of humour and ridiculous situations in it while still managing to have believable characters and truly emotional scenes. I also love the ones that get straight to the point. Although it’s sometimes fun to have the guessing game (he’s a vampire/werewolf, how will he ever tell the woman he loves what a monster he is), in Bennet and Linc’s case, a surprise pregnancy means that all those games go out the window. Bennet needs to know what is going on right away, and that kept the story from stalling over the discovery. There was more time spent trying to figure out what their new family would look like (two single parents? would she leave with the child? would they stay together?) than fighting against the werewolf reveal, and that made their story more realistic. The book is quite short, but there was still a good enough passing of time to make sure the romance feels genuine and developed. Linc knows that his child will be an easy target for his enemies, so he moves Bennet in with him for the duration of the 3-4 month pregnancy. You get to see them clash in non-romantic scenes quite a bit, and with Bennet’s mad hormones, it was super entertaining. I'm interested in reading the first book of the Take It Like A Vamp series to get a better look at the supernatural world-building, and am looking forward to checking out more of what Candace Havens has written. Overall a quick, fun read that will make you smile.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Baby's Got Bite Fur hits the fan, political tensions rise and Bennett gets hit with one revelation after another all due to a surprise conception in this charming paranormal romance. When Bennett turns up pregnant, Linc is only floored a little of course he has a right to be since werewolves can’t get humans pregnant and the reader can’t help but be completely taken with this dynamic couple as they try to come to term with the changes in their life. The chemistry between Linc and Bennett flows from the pages with vibrant intensity but since neither wants a full time commitment the relationship should be easy but what they get is a passionate, humorous and exciting entanglement. The fast paced, smooth flowing plot captivates readers with suspense and romance while the snarky and fun dialogue adds humor with the emotional turmoil adding depth to the story and characters. Expectation builds lots of tension throughout the story as Bennett gets hit with surprising revelations and then turns the tables on everyone else when it turns out that her past holds the biggest revelation of all which causes quite a bit of tension along with political fallout from the surprise conception. Well written scenes capture the imagination while the fascinating events ensure that the reader has to know what happens next. I have to say that I was completely bedazzled by Linc and Bennett’s romance, though Bennett steals the show with her feisty and independent nature – add in the pregnancy hormones and watch the fireworks explode which Linc seems to handle spectacularly well for an alpha wolf.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A very entertaining read A classic wedding hook up leads to entanglements when Bennett discovers she is pregnant with the best man's baby. So when she decides to tell Linc about her pregnancy she has no idea what is in store for her. A whole new world suddenly opens up to her and she discovers this baby leads to more than she expected; a host of new species, unbelievable skills, an unknown heritage and even the possibility of a mate. This supernatural story is fast paced; your head will spin a bit at how quickly events take place, which is quite reflective of how Bennett must feel about her situation. There is humor and romance, suspense and thrills. Overall a very entertaining read. ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
