With humor and poise, Jenna Woginrich describes her adventurous self-education in homesteading. Poignant offbeat observations on learning to farm by trial and error punctuate the story of her quest to find a permanent home for herself and her livestock: chickens, geese, sheep, ducks, rabbits, a goat, and a turkey. Rated 3 out of 5 by from not my favorite Jenna Woginrich book, but still a good read Though I enjoyed this book, I think I liked her others better. Though I would still recommend it if you are looking for a farm related story with some laughs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As a townie who spent all her childhood holidays on my grandparents farm I loved this book. When renting in the suburbs I kept two hens into the backyard without asking the landlord & this quickly led to buying eggs online, hatched chicks everywhere & roosters who needed a sound proof sleeping area! I totally have Barnheart & loved this book which made me laugh out loud.
