However, when Penny discovers she is a test subject for a line of female sex toys so effective that women by the millions are lining up outside the stores to buy it on opening day, she understands the gravity the situation. A billion husbands are about to be replaced. What is Maxwell really up to? Erotically enabled world domination? Penny sets out to discover his motivations, and with a little help, stop him before it is too late.

Reviews

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Interesting I will start off saying that I did enjoy the book. It was very peculiar. It was interesting to see such an emphasis on female sexuality. Palahniuk put a few hidden messages regarding misogyny, sex addiction and a few others. The book did take a bit of a left turn and got pretty strange but I stuck with it and kept a good sense of humour throughout and did enjoy it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful It starts out well, initially I really liked it, but about a third of the way in it started getting unpleasant to read and I just couldn't finish it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No... just no In the beginning I thought the book was going to be pretty good. Then I got about 1/4 way through it. This book is odd. It's like steamy sex mixed with.. I don't know, maybe sci-fi? I somehow managed to make it through the whole book but was not impressed one bit. I don't recommend at all

Editorial Reviews

• "A smart, satirical take on misogyny, fame, the fashion industry, self-help and science. With works such as Fight Club, Damned and Choke, Palahniuk is infamous for taking a sharp scalpel to whatever he's thinking about at the moment. . . . Nothing is sacred and everything gets torched, from pop culture . . . to celebrity." --USA Today
