Sir Arthur Thomas Quiller-Couch (1863-1944) was a British writer and although he left a huge legacy of novels published under the pen-name 'Q', he is mostly known as the editor of 'The Oxford Book of English Verse', a collection book of English poetry. 'Beside the Bee Hives' — a short story by Arthur Quiller-Couch that is set in an English villiage of Gantic. The narrator is told by his landlady that a young couple lives next door to him and that the lady is down with inflammation of the lungs. The next morning the narrator sees her husband wispiring something to somebody near the bee-hives. What secret can he conceal?
