Love, life and friendship … No one captures it better than No. 1 bestseller Cathy Kelly. Good times or bad, friends are always there… They’re friends for life…and life is for living. In the picturesque harbor tour of Dunmore, four friends are facing hard times. Abby’s TV career is taking off, but her marriage to Tom is rocky. Meanwhile, her teenage daughter Jess despairs of ever finding a boyfriend. Lizzie has time for everyone – her family and friends, but never for herself. And Erin, married and back in Ireland after eight years in Chicago, is finding it hard to face up to her past. When tragedy strikes, it rocks the small town. Drawn together in their sadness, the four women suddenly realize what is important – life is for living and they must grab it with both hands.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from On the fence I liked it but I didn't love it. And not because of the writing but more so because of the plot: it may be too heart wrenching for some readers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A story of many women I'm not sure how I came across Cathy Kelly but after reading this book, I'm sure glad I did. This novel was a good, heartwarming, funny, and relatable read. Guiltily, I had it pegged from the beginning as one of those stereotypical "chick flick" novels (which I love by the way) but it was way more than that. It showed the difficulties that women have, the internal and societal struggles that women have, the strength that women have, and more. The book jacket and various summaries I have seen state that it's the story of three women. Reading the book, I felt that it was the story of so many more. First, you had different characters (e.g. Leah or Cyn) that you also go on a character development journey with. It's also their story. But moreover, this is the story of so many women and I feel that readers will relate with either a specific character or different aspects of each. That made the novel feel so much more real and relatable, almost as if it was part of your individual life. Like I said, I'm very glad to have randomly come upon Cathy Kelly and I will definitely be reading more of her novels.
