A sweet and sexy small town romance from NYT and USA Today Bestselling author Jessie Evans

And then fate stepped in, in the form of six feet, two inches of old flame…

Lark March is over Mason Stewart, so over him she's practically forgotten the cruel way he ended things four years ago. At least that's what she's told her sisters...

But when Mason shows up at her best friend's wedding, talking sweet and looking even sweeter, Lark can't deny the man still gets to her. Mason was always The One, the only man who could make her heart race and her bones melt. But can Lark possibly trust him again?

Mason Stewart is a changed man, a man who knows what he wants and won't stop until he's convinced the only woman he's ever loved that they’re meant to be. He persuades Lark to give him seven days, and seven dates, to remind her why they belong together.

But between small town gossip and her sisters’ meddling, Lark and Mason might need a miracle to make things work.

Then again, what’s more miraculous than true love?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Contemporary Romance I'm getting fed up with all the over sexed reads out there. I thought this struck just the right balance between a good story and a little bit of heat. I'll be checking out the rest of this series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bet on this book! I loved this sweet story of second chance love. And I liked how forgiveness was handled. I hate it when people hold grudges. I think it shows they don't have their heart in the right place. Loved Lark and Mason and can't wait for Aria and Nash in the next one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Secrets, Hurt and Second Chance Love - 5 stars I have several books by Jessie, but it has been quite a while since I read one of them until just a few days ago, when I read Leather and Lace. I enjoyed her writing so much that I went back to see what other books I had. I was also lucky enough to get an audible book to go along with the book, so here we go. We meet Lark the night before her best friend, Lisa's wedding, (which is her seventh time being a bridesmaid). She is reliving all of her weirdest anxiety dreams, which are really quite funny - losing a baby in a stuffed animal collection, being in a miniature Dutch Pancake House, waking up in church after blacking out, in nothing but caramel corn covering her (twice) AND waking up exhausted. She is not only a bridesmaid, but the caterer for the largest event in the three years of her business. Mason cruelly ended things with Lark four years ago and she tells everyone that she is over him. But when he shows up at her best friend's wedding, she can't deny he still gets to her in a major way. Now that he has grown up and is no longer the messed up kid of four years ago, he is determined to prove to her that they are meant to be together. He talks her into giving him seven days to prove it, betting on true love for the win out. However, their rediscovered love is tested when old secrets come out, and they both find happily ever after harder to hold on to than they thought. There are 5 books in this series, with the last book being the conclusion to all four of the other stories, tying up all the lose ends. I'm hoping this means we will see Lark's two sisters, with their own stories.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Another "MUST READ" from Jessie Evans I was given the opportunity to read one of Jessie Evans’ novels, and I liked it so much that I decided I just had to read another one. Well, I am really glad I did. I very much enjoy Ms. Evans' writing style as well as the characters and world she creates in her books. It didn't take me long to be absorbed in their lives and start pulling for them, hoping their story would end with a happily ever after. Four years ago, Mason Stewart made the biggest mistake of his life: he shattered the heart of the only woman he has ever loved. Having taken great strides to get his head on straight, he has made his way through medical school and has now decided to return home to persuade her to give him a second chance. Lark March has spent the last four years trying to forget Mason Stewart, telling herself she is completely over him. But he then returns home unexpectedly showing up at a wedding reception Lark is catering to convince her to give him another chance. Seeing him again, Lark soon realizes that Mason is the only man she has ever truly loved. But with all her heart has been through, can she ever forgive him and can their love overcome the past and survive? Betting on You is a lovely story which shows us sometimes in life we must learn to forgive and trust, looking beyond past circumstances which make it difficult for us to do. Despite the prior hurt, there continues to be an undeniable connection and chemistry between these two characters and as they begin to spend time together again endeavoring to overcome broken promises of the past, they both rediscover the deep connection they have always had, realizing they truly and deeply know each other better than anyone else ever will. But will that be enough to forget the prior hurt and pain caused by the mistakes made long ago? I will continue to watch for more novels from Ms. Evans. She has definitely earned a place on my list of “must read” authors.
