I know some Big Words.
I'll teach them to you.
Although you are small,
you can use Big Words too.

Big Words aren't scary.
They're big fun to learn.
I was taught once
and now it's your turn.

The eighth hilarious picture book by the #1 New York Times bestselling team of Jamie Lee Curtis and Laura Cornell helps little people communicate in a big person's world. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great book for eager readers! My son is 3 and a half and reading at a grade 1-2 level...I am always looking for a new challenge for him to keep his love of reading and learning alive. We got this last night and read it three times before bed! He LOVED it! It does a wonderful job using big words and explaining them on a level that little ones can understand. It is a little mature for my son, he doesn't totally get all the concepts but he did understand and could tell me what the words meant on many of the pages after reading it a couple times. My only negative would be that the style and font sometimes makes it hard for new readers to follow where the next line is to be read...the BIG words are very large font on some pages which is fun, but confusing without a bit of help to show where the beginning of the word is when it stretched over two pages. Otherwise it's an awesome book with new words and relevant concepts for pre-schoolers and early school aged kids :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big fun This really is a great book for little people and a fun way to introduce new vocabulary. The fluid pace rhyme on each page helped my two year old daughter to remember the new words, and since reading the book her favourite phrase when's she's in the bathroom is " I need privacy!".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great book! We borrowed this book from the library. My son enjoyed it so much that we purchased it for him. It describes important concepts in an easy way for little ones to understand and helps to teach them "big words". At 3 years old, "persevere" has become part of my son's everyday vocabulary. I am looking forward to checking out more of Jamie Lee Curtis' books.
