From the author of the Eve trilogy comes the breathless story of a girl racing to figure out who she is—and how to stay alive. When a nameless girl wakes up on the subway tracks, she knows only one thing for sure: people want her dead. Can she find them before they track her down? This pulse-pounding contemporary thriller is perfect for fans of The Maze Runner, The Darkest Minds, and Legend.

Things I Know Are True:

  • I am in Los Angeles
  • I woke up on the train tracks at the Vermont/Sunset station
  • I am a teenage girl
  • I have long black hair
  • I have a bird tattoo on the inside of my right wrist with the letters and numbers FNV02198
  • People are trying to kill me
Anna Carey graduated from New York University and has an MFA in fiction from Brooklyn College. She lives in Los Angeles.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Blackbird Fast-paced with some entertaining action and twists, I wasn’t so sure about the present day romance, I leaned more towards the one in flashbacks. The ending leaves you hanging so if you’re the kind of reader who very much needs closure, have the sequel on hand. #plumreview

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Interesting POV Definitely not a story I was expecting, especially since it was written to be told from, well, my POV. Very interesting. I liked the mystery surrounding the hunt, the traps that were set up, and the way the character was confused for most of the story, though I did think the twist with Ben was out of the blue. I mean, granted, it had to happen, but at the time it just seemed really random. Still, a very interesting story.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great concept but fell flat! This had a great concept but I didn't really connect in any way to the main character. I don't know if it was the way the story was told or what but I just never cared very much about what was happening. Even the romance left me cold. The story jumped around a lot and was confusing. I feel like it would have benefited by being longer. It was only six hours which is super short for an audiobook! The point where it ended was just where it was getting interesting! I don't mind waiting for the next book in a series but in this case it really should have continued further with the story. Overall I give this a "meh".
