"...A rarity: a first-love story so well remembered and honest that it reminds you what falling in love feels like. ...achingly beautiful." - Time magazine

Wrapped in the landscape of a blustery Wisconsin winter, Blankets explores the sibling rivalry of two brothers growing up in the isolated country, and the budding romance of two coming-of-age lovers. A tale of security and discovery, of playfulness and tragedy, of a fall from grace and the origins of faith. A profound and utterly beautiful work from Craig Thompson.

At 592 pages, Blankets may well be the single largest graphic novel ever published without being serialized first.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Raw Emotion This a great graphic novel. It is a nice break from the traditional hero/action oriented books that are typically published. The story itself is very cute and real. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading about real life experiences or wants to catch a taste of what teen love is like.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Devoured this book I absolutely loved this book and really enjoyed the story along with the concept of discovering ones own belief rather than what religion we are brought up as. The journey of becoming our own person is important and hard and this book shows the good and the bad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful I've never been a fan of graphic novels, but my sister gifted this book to me last Christmas and I couldn't put it down. Brought me through a wide range of emotions and I was always itching to pick it back up and read some more. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from unexpectedly great I had to read this for school and this was a book I wasn't excited to read since all the other graphic novels I read for this class have been mediocre. But, everything about this book was great... especially the art, the characters & humour.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful This was recommended to me by a friend on Free Comic Book Day. I really enjoyed this graphic novel. It’s not often that I pick up a biographical graphic novel (and some of the subject matter was a little tough to stomach), but it was a nice change from the superhero's and monsters. A pretty strong story of coming to terms with one’s faith and confronting young, fleeting love.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from painfully sincere and beautiful I read this book when it first came out and was enthralled. I've since owned it about 7 times because everyone I lend it to "loses" it. It's the authors autobiography about growing up in a bible belt community, wrestling with his faith and desire to be an artist, his first love, and childhood demons. The artwork is fantastic and will interest even those that can't stand comics. The imagery and symbolism is superb. It will make you laugh and cry. It has a sound track. It's amazing.
