Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a fabulous mystery-suspense novel! It was great getting back to Kate Adams and Tom Parker. I loved getting to know them in the first book in this series. Their story continues in this book. This is a series that you HAVE to read in order for it to make sense. Many of the secondary characters that are also introduced in book 1 reappear in this book. There are a few new characters that we meet in this novel though. I really enjoy the details that Sandra Orchard gives about her characters. It is very easy to think of them as flesh-and-blood people rather than fictional characters. There are a variety of personalities and quirks included in the cast of this book. As this story progresses there are glances back to the first book and the danger that Kate was in during that story. The question comes up briefly as to whether this new mystery and danger are actually connected to that story or just a coincidence. At the same time there were some questions that came up during the first novel, but not resolved, that resurface and more information about them is revealed. It is a wonderfully well written story and drew me in so thoroughly that I finished it in 2 days. I am looking forward to reading book 3 and finding out how everything is resolved. Hopefully Kate and Tom will get their happily-ever-after.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Trust is Blind Blind Trust, the second of the Port Aster Secret Series, picks up the story of Kate Adams right where the first book, Deadly Devotion, leaves off. Only a few short weeks have passed and Kate is back in the middle of another police investigation, this time for passing counterfeit money. She, true to character, is not content to let the police handle the matter, but involves herself in the investigation. The fact that she is sort of dating Tom Parker, the lead detective, undoubtedly makes this easier to do than normal. The clues lead to more mystery and more questions. Why does her elderly, next door neighbor suddenly seem so confused and why is the son so anxious to get his mother into a nursing home and sell off her assets? Who is out to frame Kate? Why is that mystery man following her and why won’t Tom arrest him? And most worrying of all, why do all signs seem to lead back to the one major company able to alleviate some of the town’s employment problems? This story has lots of twists and turns, some of them predictable, others not. And in the process of solving the mysteries of the counterfeit bills and the elderly neighbor, more mystery arises, leading into the third instalment of the series. Will Kate ever learn to trust again? Although I enjoyed the book, I did have to stretch my credibility factor on more than one occasion. Perhaps I lead too sheltered a life. I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blind Trust is Part of a Unique and Exciting Series Blind Trust Sandra Orchard Book Summary: Kate Adams had no idea she was carrying counterfeit money, and she can't believe that it came from her sweet neighbor. Or that it lands her in the middle of another one of Detective Tom Parker's investigations. Determined to prove her neighbor's innocence, Kate stumbles into a pit of intrigue that is far deeper than a two-bit counterfeit operation--and strikes too close to home for comfort. As family secrets come to light, her world--and her budding romance with Tom--begin to crumble. To Kate, it's clear that she won't be safe until she uncovers all of Port Aster's secrets. But is it too late for her and Tom? Review: Very suspenseful and well written. Even though this was a sequel to Deadly Devotion it was still readable as a stand alone. There was some spoilers throughout the book, but not enough to keep me from reading the first in the series someday. I found the storyline to be interesting. There was a lot going on throughout the story but I never felt like things were so scattered that they couldn't be resolve in the last 30 minutes of reading the book. It is nice to see the immediate things resolved. There were times that I was on the edge of my seat and a bit jumpy due to the events occurring in the book. I love the thrill of the suspense and the characters were original and likable. The secondary characters and some surprises kept me going to the end. I am looking forward to the next book in the Port Aster Secrets series. I would like to thank Net Galley and Revell for allowing me to read and review this book in return for a free copy and I was never asked to write a favorable review by anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great mystery with a liberal dose of suspense As the author's disclaimer says, Bind Trust is best read as the second book in the series. Having said that, it does read well as a standalone, however obviously acts as a spoiler to the mystery in the first book. I think Orchard has created a new genre...suspestry? Or myspense? A suspense/mystery hybrid. :-) Whatever you want to call it, this is a page-turning read. The author's detail-oriented, steel-trapped mind is scary! How she keeps everything straight as she weaves the current plot and overall series arc together is beyond me. I'm just glad she does! Honestly, my mind was reeling by the end of the book. And the end? Sob, more of a cliff hanger! Kate and Tom are back dancing around a relationship. One step forward, two steps back. That's all right, I know they are destined for each other. Can't wait until the next book to follow their romance to it's rightful conclusion. If you like a good mystery with a liberal dose of suspense and dashes of humour and light romance then Blind Trust is definitely the book for you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome book What an awesome book. Blind Trust is Book #2 in the Port Aster Secrets series. Blind Trust does tell a little about what happens in Book #1 but I would highly recommend reading Deadly Devotion first. Kate Adam's is once again involved in another case of Tom Parker's, this time it deals with counterfeit money. Sandra has a way of putting lots of twists and turns in the book, and it's hard to put down because you want to find out what happens next. I don't want to give anything away. I want you to read it for yourself, you will never guess what happens. Can't wait for the next book to come out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great book Blind Trust by Sandra Orchard Kate Adams finds herself in the middle of a two-bit counterfeiting ring when she is caught passing counterfeit bills from her elderly neighbor. Detective Tom Parker is sent yet again to investigate Kate. They fight a growing attraction as they try to prove her innocence and save her beloved neighbor from her greedy son. As if that was not enough she is being followed, a big corporation is endangering her research, she is falsely accused and being deceived. This is the first book I have read from author Sandra Orchard but it surly will not be the last. Blind Trust is book two in the Port Aster Secrets series. I have to wonder what I missed by not reading book one, Deadly Devotion. I was somewhat upset with the cliff hanger ending but will be sure to pick up book three. I found the characters to be well thought out and developed. The story line is fast paced, full of suspense and a hint of romance. I give Blind Trust five stars and have added Sandra Orchard to my list of great authors that I look forward to reading from. I want to give a high-five to the author Sandra Orchard and publisher Revell for bringing compelling Christian books that are entertaining and give hope to the reader with stories of faith. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review and I am so grateful for the authors and publishers generosity.
