Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK book This is one of my least favorite Sandra Boynton books. It's basic and simple. It can be a book for early readers as it is silly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Silly Turkey My child loves this book. It introduces colours and different clothing items in a hilarious way. The turkey always wears the clothes the wrong way. Silly Turkey.. Shoes go on your feet not on your head.... hahahha

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of fun and giggles My 3 year old can't get enough of this book. She loves that she can "read" it herself since the words are simple and match the pictures. Makes a great baby gift.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and cute This is humour for the pre-school crowd. I like that it's short, reviews colours and the names of clothing and introduces the concept of wearing the right things for the right event. Tots just think it's funny. The joke is that the turkey keeps putting his clothes on wrong - on backwards, etc. And then when he gets everything perfect - it's to go swimming. Which is wrong because you're supposed to wear a swimming suit to the pool. Oops.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Like Boynton's other books but not this one.... It's a weird story - I don't get it and I don't like it. Maybe it's funny for older kids who understand that the animals aren't properly dressing themselves?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Funny story! A funny little story that teaches kids about articles of clothing and colours. All of the animals keep dressing themselves correctly but the turkey gets it wrong every time. Funny ending how the turkey finally dresses himself correctly but then dives into the pool!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy read, silly My daughter loves the silliness of the book - I'm not quite understanding the humour, but the important part is she loves it.
Date published: 2016-12-01
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun! Sturdy for little hands and lots of fun to read for kids and adults! The silly story appeals to kids, and the illustrations are fun for young children to enjoy on their own as well as to read the words with an adult.

From Our Editors

There's a rule of thumb with children's literature and it goes something like this: if you want them to remember it, make it rhyme. An obvious advocate of this rule, Sandra Boynton not only pens catchy verse, but also goes one step further by creating a colourful cast of chunky animals characters to illustrate the ideas. Just one of many sturdy boardbooks in the Boynton collection, Blue Hat, Green Hat inspires children to follow the cheery animals as they teach the basic colours in the spectrum.
