Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great starter set It was very hard to find a starting place to teach my child to read as I am not a trained teacher. I used these BOB books to compliment the "Teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons". My daughter excelled very easily and loves that she can take these books and read them to her grandparents or parents. The books are very step challenged. I would give her a new book every few weeks when I saw improvement. I highly recommend the use of these books.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great start for learning to read Both my children read through the first 3 sets of BOB Books and loved them. They are well laid out for wandering minds to stay focused on the words not just the pictures, and they are fluid in terms of reviewing old words and introducing new ones. It's always been great when they were able to read on their own through one... then the next... then the next! They would be so proud and totally up for the more challenging books ahead. I would recommend this for any child learning to read.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Brand new Universe I bought my nephew's granddaughter a book to help get her starting to read. She loves books, and like my own grown family, needed some creative tools to assist her in opening up a whole new source of fun, enjoyment, excitement, and acquiring reading and writing skills that only books can provide. The ability to read comprehensively, is a skill that has lifelong implications, in almost every school subject, including mathematics, and science ; the ability to read is inestimable. It can also provide her with a lifetime of reading enjoyment as she progresses through various authors, suited to her age. Books are a doorway to knowledge, and more important, a unique tool to creating a vivid imagination,,, The Perfect Gift
