Rated 3 out of 5 by from Soft-going ... I used to love DF, but now even his 'best' books seem too full of holes to hold my attention. The central idea that the main character tolerates the threats he is under is beyond credibility. This, combined with a very dated stiff upper lip attitude to misfortune, leaves me longing for the end. The world is a different place to that known to Mr Francis and happy endings are never certain.
