Customer Reviews of Born of Ice

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As entrancing as the first two. Something about the chars just makes you feel close to them. There is a realism in them that calls to the things you want in life and wish for the freedom that they have in this story. If only you could find people to trust and not the typical aristocrat on every corner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So hot you’ll melt So hot you’ll melt Devyn Kell has spent his life working for The League until he finds out what is really happening. People are starving and it’s costing people their lives. Refusing to allow that to happen Devyn starts running medicine, weapons, everything people will need to survive. He’ll stop at nothing to do the right thing and he has all the weapons he needs to prevent people from stopping him, since he’s been trained by one of the best League members. Alix Garran is a woman who has a past she can’t run from. Her father was a runner, though not a very good one, and her family is in danger and she must do anything to get them back. She takes a job with Devyn’s ship as a System Engineer, and she finds that what Devyn does is a fight she was to fight for, plus Devyn is a man she can appreciate. Though things start to become lethal with Devyns enemies and Alixs’ past catches us with her, they have to learn to trust each other. Though there’s more then Alix is telling Devyn and it could cost them their lives. This is the third book in The League series and better then the rest. As you find out more about Devyn and Alix, you fall for them. Kenyon’s writing style is unique to her style of books and it mesmerizing to see how the characters grow. You see characters from the other two books in here as well. This book is a four!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW This is the third book in the series and I like the way Kenyon went with the next generation in this one. Although I was expecting a little more action at the end of the book when all the old and new characters came together but i liked it just the same. I also like the way it worked out for Syn and his sons. I can't wait to read future books

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Loved it! This book did not disappoint. It had the action and romance that the 2 previous books had. It jumps forward a lot of years so you meet the children of the characters introduced in the first 2 books. This allows the author to continue the series. Although I would love to see how some of the older characters ended up where they did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As good as the first two books I really like how this book is set further into the future where the kids are now grown up and still dealing with some of the same problems their parent did. Devyn, Syn's son, was tired of the political backstabbing and double dealing, and decided to go on his own and help those who needed help. Alix is a slave and is sent to spy on Devyn to get information to confict him. She is amazed at how he is not like any of the men she is use too. He is gentle, kind, and his crew respects him, and she starts falling head over heels for him. She has to keep reminding herself that her mother and sister's lives are in her hands and to save them, she has to betray the only man who has ever cared for her. Devyn can't get Alix out of his head, above or below his waist, and she looks similar to his ex that tried to kill him and in turn he killed. He finds out that she is there to spy on him and is determined to save Alix and her family at any cost, even turning himself in to his enemy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good read This is my first Sherrilyn Kenyon book. I found it very entertaining. When I start a series in the middle I worry that I will not be able to understand everything, but with this book I didn't feel as though I was missing anything. I will definitely read some more of her books.
