Rated 5 out of 5 by from Charming Romance in Historic Banff Tilly is a plucky, heartwarming heroine who drew me into her story on page one and carried me with her to the novel's end. Her journey begins with her arrival in Banff and meeting Ryan, who is training to become a Banff tourist guide. Ryan's eagerness to share his new knowledge about the region and practice his tour guide technique becomes the author's clever device to slip tidbits of Banff history into the narrative. I came away with a sense of Banff in the past, on its way to becoming a major tourist destination. Through the story, Tilly faces hardships typical of the region, such as an August snowstorm and changeable mountain weather, which can turn dangerous. Well-developed secondary characters round out the story. I especially enjoyed Bella, a spoiled rich American guest at the famous Banff Springs hotel, where Tilly works as a chambermaid. I understand this book is the start of a Brides series set in Canada's 10 provinces and 2 of the territories. I look forward to reading them all over the coming year.
