When a good southern girl becomes a single teen mom, how does she hold onto her dreams?

New York Times bestselling author Maci Bookout was just a normal, slightly overachieving high school girl in Chattanooga, Tennessee. But then she got pregnant, and everything turned upside down. Even as she rose to fame on MTV's hit series Teen Mom, Maci was struggling to balance life as a single teen mom with her own hopes and dreams...all while honoring her own sense of independence.

This is the true story of how she took charge of the unexpected to build a life for herself and her son Bentley, and managed not to go crazy in the process. Because sometimes growing up is an act of will...and Maci's will is bulletproof.
Maci Bookout starred on the MTV reality TV show 16 and Pregnant and went on to become a fan favorite on the spin-off, Teen Mom. Known for her down-to-earth Southern charm and level-headed personality, Maci has earned the respect of teens and adults alike with her courage under pressure and her mature reflections on teen pregnancy and m...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love her! So great to hear her side of things - I have followed her story from day one and she has Malagasy been my fave!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Conflicted thoughts The book was too easy to read, I finished it in 5 hours of picking it up, I found a lot of spelling errors, and repeated sentences with one or two words different, in two sentences together. I don't feel that the book was any different than what the show had already been showing us, so for that it was a Debbie downer. I thought with this book, she would get into a little bit more of personal basis with her fans and share things we didn't know, the only thing I found out new was her health problems leading up to conceiving her daughter, if you are looking for something to read to pass the time, this is an easy quick book. But I got the same version of her in the book than I did, the show.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Simple Read Great memoir but her writing style is not very advanced. It is almost too much of an easy read. Good read for teenagers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Such a good Book! I bought this book after getting a Indigo Gift Card for Christmas. I've been watching Maci on TV since her premiere on 16 and Pregnant and was wanting to pick this book up and read it but just never got around to it. I'm so glad I did!! Maci book is so inspiring and it was super hard to put down. I'm glad to have a new insight into Maci and her life!! She is an amazing woman and I'm so glad I read her book!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Letdown I have been a fan of Maci since 16 and Pregnant and I continue to watch her on Teen Mom so I was looking forward to reading Bulletproof. I was disappointed with this book. Numerous typos and especially towards the end of the book. Maci did not reveal any personal stories or experiences that we haven't seen on Teen Mom. The book was expensive and a very easy read - I finished it in 2 nights worth of reading. Every second or third chapter Maci included a poem she wrote but it seemed more like a filler. If you are hoping for a tell-all book, this is not the book to purchase. If you haven't watched 16 and Pregnant or Teen Mom but want to get to know Maci, this is the book for you.
