about

#1 New York Times bestselling author Ilona Andrews launches a brand-new Hidden Legacy series, in which one woman must place her trust in a seductive, dangerous man who sets off an even more dangerous desire . . .

Nevada Baylor is faced with the most challenging case of her detective career—a suicide mission to bring in a suspect in a volatile situation. Nevada isn't sure she has the chops. Her quarry is a Prime, the highest rank of magic user, who can set anyone and anything on fire.

Then she's kidnapped by Connor "Mad" Rogan—a darkly tempting billionaire with equally devastating powers. Torn between wanting to run and wanting to surrender to their overwhelming attraction, Nevada must join forces with Rogan to stay alive.

Rogan's after the same target, so he needs Nevada. But she's getting under his skin, making him care about someone other than himself for a change. And, as Rogan has learned, love can be as perilous as death, especially in the magic world.

"Ilona Andrews" is the pseudonym for a husband-and-wife writing team. Ilona is a native-born Russian and Gordon is a former communications sergeant in the U.S. Army. Contrary to popular belief, Gordon was never an intelligence officer with a license to kill, and Ilona was never the mysterious Russian spy who seduced him. They met in co...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I loved this book! Don't judge the book by the cover! Ilona Andrews is one my bullet proof authors (love the Kate Daniels series!), but I confess, this one sat on my to-be-read pile for an embarrassingly long time, partially because of the cover and the "romance" classification on the spine. I devoured this book in several hours. I loved the characters, which remind me a bit of Kate and Curran, yet are different in their own unique ways. I enjoyed the setting of the book, and the other characters (love Nevada's family!). After finishing this book, I immediately pre-ordered the second one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You've got nothing to lose #plumreview Burn for me was a great start to this series. It's exciting and leaves you wanting to read more about Nevada and Rogan. I am always happy with Ilona Andrews' books. The Hidden Legacy series did not disappoint, and if you're a fan of Ilona Andrews' or just curious about her work, you should definitely pick up Burn for me, White hot, and Wildfire.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great I wasn't to sure about getting this book. I don't really read trashy romance novels and i feared that was exactly what this book would end up being. While looking threw some comments trying to decide weather or not to get it, I came across a comment about the cover not doing this book justice. Deciding to take a chance i bought it and i completely agree with the comment i had read. It was more then just sex like i had feared it would be.There was sexual tension sure, but the romance and action had a great balance to it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly good I like some of their other books, but was a bit skeptical of a romance written by these two. The end result is a good book, but one that I thought was more urban fantasy than paranormal romance. It does not fit the normal romance mold, which may be why I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A GREAT Read! Why is that the books I enjoy by Ilona Andrews are the most underrated ones? The cover is terrible, I'm sorry but it does the book a disservice. The story is action-packed, interesting and lively. Firstly, I love Nevada -- she's smart, confident, strong and loyal. And even more than that, I love her family! Ilona Andrews created captivating, funny and relateable family members that make me root for the Baylor clan. Mad Rogan is a dark, slightly twisted man with immense power and money at his disposal. We've all read that character before -- but Mad is engaging, surprisingly charming at times and intelligent. I really enjoyed their dynamic and am eagerly awaiting the sequel. If only the sequel was released as quickly as their Kate Daniels books -- that would be amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved Loved LOVED Burn for Me I just want to gush about Burn for Me to everyone! Darkly seductive and magical experience to read, I haven't felt so fangirl excited about a new urban fantasy series in ages. I'm always impressed by how well detailed and developed the world-building is in Ilona Andrews' novels, and Burn for Me is no exception. I was thrilled to learn about the world of the Hidden Legacy series, one in which powerful family dynasties called Houses control cities and hereditary magic means everything. Nevada is intelligent, tough, and level-headed—she's my kind of heroine. As a private investigator, she's found herself in dangerous situations in the past, but it's nothing compared to her latest case. Nevada has always carefully selected cases that were within her capabilities and wouldn't require too many unnecessary risks, but her hands are tied this time. To protect her family and their Baylor Investigative Agency, Nevada is forced to search for a notorious pyrokinetic Prime named Adam Pierce. Even though Nevada knows she's expected to fail, she won't back down without a fight. It also helps that Nevada has a secret ability of her own: she can tell when people are lying. Connor "Mad" Rogan is a reclusive billionaire with terrifying telekinetic powers. His name is whispered in fear and awe; no one would ever dare to cross him unless they had a death wish. Mad Rogan has his own reasons for finding Adam Pierce, and Nevada reluctantly agrees to work together with him. Mad Rogan is a dangerous temptation that Nevada is determined to resist. Their sarcastic banter (my favourite kind!) may carry a flirtatious undertone, but Nevada is also smart to be wary of his intentions and to guard her heart. After all, Mad Rogan is an insanely wealthy Prime and she's barely managing to keep her family's business afloat. You just know that when the moment comes for the seduction to inevitably erupt into a full out inferno, it will be so worth it in the end. I loved loved LOVED Ilona Andrews' Burn for Me! Everything about the novel felt so fresh, exciting, and unique. When I finished reading Burn for Me, I immediately flipped back to the first page so I could re-read the book all over again. I don't know how I'll possibly be able to wait for the next book in the Hidden Legacy series!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing!! One of the better romance novels I've read. What's exciting about this one compared to other romance novels is the fact hat while the main characters are attracted to each other they don't automatically jump each others bones. The author builds up the plot and leaves you wondering what's gonna happen next.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great and promising start for a new series. It was a pleasure to read. It certainly left me wanting more. A strong protagonist without being an indestructible warrior superhero.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wonderful read! Wow the Ilona Andrews team strikes again! I absolutely love the writing style that this couple has. Their ability to make me feel completely immersed in the universe; like I'm running alongside Nevada.. There's something about them too that makes me devour a book within 48 hours or something terrible will happen! When it came to Burn with Me I loved the female lead: her strong character, morals, her strong family ties.. She was fantastic! Most other characters (mainly people of a high magic caste called 'Primes'), were believable of being.. Lofty, full of themselves and that holier than thou personality type.. It came across! The antagonist(s?) were fantastic, and I love the lead in to future novels in the series (eee! More books!) the only issues I had with it were one or two grammatical issues which honestly were no big deal, and not something I could find for you again. Read this book! If you're on the fence.. Get off and get to a bookstore! And buy her others while you're at it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent! Wonderful new series by the authors of the Edge and the Kate Daniels series. Ilonaand Andrew have the knack of creating believable worlds and characters and writing story lines that pull you straight into their worlds. This is such an engaging story, you won't be able to put it down until you've turned the last page. Do yourself a favour and buy this book! ??
