MacKayla Lane and Jericho Barrons return in the blockbuster Fever series from Karen Marie Moning.

It’s easy to walk away from lies. Power is another thing.

MacKayla Lane would do anything to save the home she loves. A gifted sidhe-seer, she’s already fought and defeated the deadly Sinsar Dubh—an ancient book of terrible evil—yet its hold on her has never been stronger.

When the wall that protected humans from the seductive, insatiable Fae was destroyed on Halloween, long-imprisoned immortals ravaged the planet. Now Dublin is a war zone with factions battling for control. As the city heats up and the ice left by the Hoar Frost King melts, tempers flare, passions run red-hot, and dangerous lines get crossed. Seelie and Unseelie vie for power against nine ancient immortals who have governed Dublin for millennia; a rival band of sidhe-seers invades the city, determined to claim it for their own; Mac’s former protégé and best friend, Dani “Mega” O’Malley, is now her fierce enemy; and even more urgent, Highland druid Christian MacKeltar has been captured by the Crimson Hag and is being driven deeper into Unseelie madness with each passing day. The only one Mac can depend on is the powerful, dangerous immortal Jericho Barrons, but even their fiery bond is tested by betrayal.

It’s a world where staying alive is a constant struggle, the line between good and evil is blurred, and every alliance comes at a price. In an epic battle against dark forces, Mac must decide who she can trust, and what her survival is ultimately worth.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed If u want to read about the brilliant Dani in this book, u would b disappointed. The Jada character is as boring as Mac's. Dani is why I like the story......oh well

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Burned The first few pages I was thinking "nah that's not how it happened ". And then the story takes off. Again great intertwining of all the threads we know of with new ones added. Is Mac ever going to be free to just be? With Barrons. As for Ryodan and Dani - can't wait to see how that pans out. I remain hooked and eagerly anticipating the next installment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Leaves a lot to be desired... After reading ICED and getting into the Dani story, wasn't sure where this book would go… I loved the series UNTIL ICED and its gone downhill in a big way. I was looking forward to getting back into Mac and Barrons but it was boring, not much happened and lots of 'mind talk' rather than story telling. The best part was actually about Dani and it looks like the story is building up to be about Dani and Ryoden in the future which would be good. Did enjoy the new emphasis on Christian and the Keltar. Its such a good story but needs a bit more to match up to the earlier books. The 'spice' is kind of thrown in and not believable. Hoping for the next book to be better than this one!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Was ok I was expecting so much from this book...but I didn't really feel the hype from this novel like I have with all the others. I found Mac to be very childish and irritating to the point where I really didn't want to read about her anymore. While the book in a whole was good it just didn't provide any real substance like the others have. The story really didn't go anywhere although the best part was Dani.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Up with her best A must read if you've been reading the serious. Twists & turns as others before have but pulls it together at the end and leaves you hanging. Can't wait for the next one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome!!! I read other reveiws and if I had listened too their advice I never would have read this book. Fortunately, I had just finished the fever series and decided to risk it. This book was very well written and anyone who says differently doesn't understand that writting from first person perspectives can be very limiting. Ms. Moning devided the perspective between charaters, which to some may seem disjointed. But in the grand scheme helps the reader see all sides of the story. The point of this story was to set up the next story. But don't get me wrong this is not a filler book. It ties up loose ends from the fever series and sets up new challanges for the next story. So, in short, leave your preconceived notions behind and enjoy the book. Ms. Moning knows what she is doing, she doesn't need anyone telling her she got it wrong. She has the whole picture, so have some patience and some faith. She wont let you down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sizzlingly Hot Though I wasn't too keen on the flipping of each character's point of view, it ultimately worked rather well for this book. It started up were Iced left off and did not disappoint in keeping the storyline moving. There's never a dull moment in Moning's magic web, however the end is classic Fever and the wait for the next book will be sure agony!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as good as I hoped I HAD Hoped that the series returning to Mac and Barens would rekindle the magic of the earlier series. How Ever the author's attempt to merge the Danny Mac storyline in my opinion left this book lacking I did like Burned better then Ice which was the being of Danny's stories. Burned is still worth the read. I do plane to read the next book that comes out as I am not yet ready to completely write off this series.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hot mess Nonsensical plots. No resolutions. Action happens off the page. Mac waffles, when she should be paying attention (Hello, scene where she's moaning about Barrens while Ryo is figuring out who Jada is? What a mess that was). I wanted to love it-really I did, but I can't help feeling this is the first book in another 6 arc series that's just a money spinner for the publishers. KMM is capable of much better than this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay A bit disappointing. Expected more to happen. Was upset we got so little of Dani's POV. Also thought it would be hotter. Still a fever book though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible!! I couldn't put this book down once I started it! Fantastic. Can't wait for the next book in the series to come out later this year. When I finished the book, I was screaming (in my head) "no no that can't be the end, there has to be more"! Always a sign of a great read when it leaves you wanting more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Burned This installment of the Fever series was awesome! I could not put it down (except to eat, work and sleep). So many little threads left along the way which have me thinking of what's coming next. Jada? What an awesome twist that was! KMM...I like your style. I'm hooked...plain and simple. Can't wait for more!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from over too quickly I didn't expect it to end where it did, the guide at the back was very misleading and it seemed shorter then previous books in the series. Surprised and happy by the ending though

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Only ok I was disapointed. I am a great fan, but this was not as rich as previous books. Nothing solved. Ended without going anywhere with the characters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Short, sweet and spoiler free ! This review will be short, sweet and spoiler free. I'm not going to get into the multiple POV's, Dani's age etc that everyone else is concerned with those issues are being discussed to death already here. What I will say is this: make up your own mind, don't let anyone's disappointment or agenda prevent you from picking up a copy of Burned. KMM has wrapped up the past and brought the reader up to date so well you can actually jump into the Fever Series here if you want. Of course you're going to want to go back and read the first book in the series Darkfever, and from there you won't be able to stop until you've read them all. This series is pretty much like crack, one hit and you're hooked. Burned is a fantastic read and has no less than 5 plot twists that come at you like a freight train w-o warning. If you're a long time KMM fan leave whatever theories you have at the door b-c I am telling you now nothing that you and your friends came up with can compare to what goes on in this book. The gang's back and I promise what you learn about them this time around will make your jaw drop. There's plenty of action to make it impossible for you to put down Burned. PS: Make sure you check out the glossary, you never know what you're going to learn back there.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from So many things are now in place to blow my mind I was really looking forward to POV of Dani but understand that in order for the story to progress with all the twists and turns, there were some information we were not allow to glean yet. Thus its more Mac. You have to go into this book with an open mind. A lot of things that were left hanging in other fever books have been brought to light. While others are more obscure. You can tell that something huge is building. This seems to be more of a stepping stone, its definitely not a stand alone novel like Iced was. If you go in all gun ho for Dani, then you might be disappointed. Don't forget that there was a lot going on in this book, and KMM gave what the readers were demanding. Just be careful what you wish for. I can't wait for the next book, gonna be HUGE considering what has been revealed. The plot thickens
Date published: 2015-01-21
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Whew! I feel like I just was on an emotional roller coaster and I'm still riding the high! KMM took my preconceived ideas and laughed in my face then gave me the story that I didn't expect but that I loved. I loved every freaking moment of it. I can't wait to see what's next!
Date published: 2015-01-18
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved! I think this might top Shadow Fever as my favorite book in the series! I devoured it, now I need to savor it. Time for a re-read. :)

Read from the Book

Dear Reader, If this is the first book you’ve picked up in the Fever series, at the end of Burned, I’ve included a guide of People, Places, and Things to illuminate the backstory. If you’re a seasoned reader of the series, the guide will reacquaint you with notable events and characters, when they were introduced, what they did, if they survived and, if not, how they died. You can either read the guide first, getting acquainted with the world, or reference it as you go along to refresh your memory. You’ll find a few nuggets not mentioned in the books. The guide features characters by type, followed by places and then things. To the new reader, welcome to the Fever world. To the devoted readers who make it possible for me to do what I love every day, welcome back. She couldn’t sound more awake if she’d rolled over on a rattlesnake in her bed. I laugh silently, mirthlessly. More than she can handle. “We have information to exchange. You want to know what it is.
