Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it. Having read this anthology for Meljean Brook's 'Here there be monsters', I really enjoyed all of the short stories.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Neat little group of stories Whisper of Sin - Singh - Having only read the first in the Psy/Changeling series this story appears to take place before Slave to Sensation. Emmett, one of the Dark River enforcers, meets his match in Ria. Ria's family is a very eccentric bunch and her Popo made me laugh, out loud, more than once. While I enjoyed the story it wasn't long enough for me. I would have preferred a longer story with more character development. Blood and Roses - Knight - Blood Roses, like Amaris, were created to seduce and tame the Vampire Knights, like Raniero. When the evil sorcerer Korban kidnaps Amaris's sister he forces her to assist in the capture and then the seduction of Raniero to buy himself more time to drop the Great Barrier, a magical shield, that protects humans from the Varil raiders, a reptilian race that has a voracious appetite for human flesh. The story was good but I would have loved for it to be longer and to have given more detail and depth to the story as a whole. It did have elements similar to the Master Vampire series but it was different enough to make it interesting. As with Whisper of Sin this story was not long enough for me. It was just a teaser that introduced me to a new Angela Knight world. A nibble is never enough with Ms.Knight. Shifting Sea - Kantra - I had not read any of Kantra's work prior to this. This story introduced me to the Children of the Sea series. Morweena is a member of the Finfolk and when Jack, the new Lord of Arden Hall, sees her on the shoreline singing he is drawn to her. Not knowing who she is he assumes she is a whore or a servant and they begin an affair. This story did not grab me. It was more historical in style, which is not my favorite, and I had a hard time getting into it. It does have a couple of interesting twists and it is worth reading particularly if you like historical romances. Here There Be Monsters - Brooks - I have not finished this story yet I will post more later.
