Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Reference The best book that I've found on axe, saw, and knife use and safety. Excellent chapter on how to make fire. Not the normal smattering of all topics but comprehensive detail on the use of tools and fire.

Rated out of 5 by from I would really like to read this book, because the woods, or anything that has to do with the outdoors and fields and stuff, is basically what I call home. It's where I feel most comforatble. I just want to thank Mors Kochanski for writing this book. And I WILL read it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An essential addition to any Bushcraft library This is one of the best reference books on the topic. If you buy one book to introduce yourself to Bushcraft or Fieldcraft, make it this one! Remember you're old Boyscout handbook? It's like that......on steroids!!! Well worth the money!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Absolutely Great! This book was exactly what I wanted, and more. Great book for any outdoorsman.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware This is the exact same book as a previous release by Kochanski. The other book was published in '87 and reprinted in '88 and was title "Northern Bushcraft" and has an entirely different cover. If you think this is another book in a series.....it's not.
