Call to Duty is a novel of epic scope and breathtaking adventure that races at mach speed between two deadly wars -- one waged five decades ago against a madman with dreams of world domination, the other to be fought tomorrow against well-armed dealers in poison and death. For there are times that call for swift, decisive action -- as unforeseen global events threaten to shatter an uncertain peace. There are times that test the mettle of even the most courageous of men and women -- as four young Americans taken captive by a power-hungry Asian drug lord. And now, a beleaguered Commander-in-Chief -- beset upon by internal political turmoil and terrifying international intrigues -- must find guidance and strength in his own heroic past. Then he must act.

For these are certain times.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Skip this one This novel was a bunch of terrible blog posts that were named and called chapters. It was all over the place and the few lol moment weren't worth the rest of self indulged nonsense.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Couldn't even finish :( It's pretty rare that I don't finish a book, I was really looking forward to this one. I only managed to get about half way through before I gave up. If you really, really, like poop jokes, you might enjoy it. There were some funny moments, but generally it felt forced and repetitive (kids poop a lot and in inconvenient places, we get it!). Again, if you are one to really enjoy bathroom humor, then this might be perfect for you. If you want something similar but a bit more refined, I'd suggest The Mommy Shorts Guide to Remarkably Average Parenting - same type of book, but much, much funnier.

And totally acceptable to laugh at

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good read for all the mommas out there! I really loved this book. Its hard for most mommas to find the time to sit down and read but if you do find a few short minutes get lost in this book! Its a breath of fresh air and a ton of reassurance that you are not alone in your parenting journey. You will def have some laughs with this one! I have gifted this book to a few friends after the birth of baby #2 :P

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hilarious and so True! I bought this and devoured it in 2 days, which is saying a lot when you have 2 small children and only get to read while nursing! Also, a bonus is the small size, allowing me to read while nursing. Karen is able to lovingly poke fun at herself and her family as they navigate the landmine filled journey known as parenting. A must for all parents and parents-to-be as it not only lets you know what you are in for but also normalizes your experience.
