Rated 5 out of 5 by from Carpe Demon Andy McNeilly is responsible for acting as the Liaison for the Vancouver Vampire horde which is a problem because she detests the Vampire Master and has to keep her beast locked inside in this thrilling Carus novel. There’s a menacing Demon on a rampage and Andy’s been tasked to deal with the Demon by the Master Vampire and the reader can’t help but get caught up in the thrills as what Andy discovers chills her bones. The excitement grabs readers by the seat their pants from the very first chapter as the Demon interrupts a very important Vampire event and the story keeps the adrenaline pumping and spine tingling tension building throughout the story with well written scenes full of vivid details that capture the imagination and make it easy for the reader to become engrossed in lots of action scenes, unexpected twists and a heroine with a major decision to make while she tries to stop the rampaging demon and keep the Master Vampire off her back. Andy tries her best to keep her loved ones safe but with demons on the loose and a Master Vampire that uses people for manipulation that not easy to do which adds to the emotional turbulence in Andy’s romance life. She’s still has a decision to make, one that will break her heart which grips readers by their heart as that turmoil flows from the pages along with the sizzling chemistry that burns between Andy and each of her two men in this fast paced and smooth flowing plot that keeps readers on the edge of their seat. Andy’s turbulent life has once again held me spellbound from beginning to end and the more Andy’s learns about herself, the more intrigued I become so needless to say I am quite looking forward to finding out what happens next in Andy’s world.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kick-Ass Series Beast Coast left off with our kick-ass Andy taking on the new role as ambassador for vampire Lucien, and not by choice. Lucien bound her to him, so she’s like the perfect employee…without benefits. Everything he tells her to do, she’s gotta do it. Which sucks big time for her when a demon from her past blasts into the vampire boardroom, raises some hell, and then goes on a murder spree, because Lucien orders her to “take care of it”. Vampires. *Rolls eyes* Carpe Demon takes Andy on an emotional journey into her past, where she has to face her demons–literally–and she discovers a little bit more about her Carus nature while still trying to figure out her screwed up love life. If you’re looking for a blend of action, humor, and a cast of awesome characters with a side of romance, don’t miss out on this series. Seriously. It rocks. One of the things I love best about J.C.’s world are the characters. Even the bad guys have tons of layers, so much so that it’s hard not to like some of them. We have the vampires, shifters of all kinds, witches, and now the demons take part of the stage. And yeah, there’s even a likable demon. I went into Carpe Demon thinking it was the last installment and wondering by the time I was getting close to the end how in the world Andy was going to solve all her problems in the next few pages. Luckily, I was wrong. There’s more to the story after Carpe Demon. *Flails* She still has to deal with her love problem (my vote is still for Tristan…purr) and I absolutely loved how Andy took charge at the end, but things aren’t wrapped up, and I can’t wait to see what supe Andy has to deal with next.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Another stellar addition to a phenomenal series! Carpe Demon, is chalk full of surprises, vampires, romance, shifters, demons, secrets, agendas, and lots of action. This is the third book in the Carus series and should be read in order. We find out a little more about Andy and being a carus but there is still more to unearth. She appears to make a choice between the two Alphas Tristan and Wick. I am thrilled but I ache for the other one as they are both great men. Andy has her reasons though and they really make sense. J.C. does a wonderful job of binding her readers into a deep spell that holds us willingly captive for hours on end. You'll be addicted to this series if you give it a try! It has wit, a snarky, sassy, strong heroine who has a good head on her shoulders and a strong moral compass, two great love interests, vampires, witches, shifters, demons....... Have I got your attention yet? I strongly recommend all three of these books to those of you who like urban fantasy or paranormal romance. The romance has been strictly PG and is acceptable for readers of any age. I like a good deal of steam normally but with these books, the humor, action and suspense take the cake and I don't feel like I am missing a thing. I received an ecopy from the author in exchange for my honest opinion. It was another stellar addition to a phenomenal series!
