Rated 1 out of 5 by from Could not read this book, too all over the place I found this book very difficult to read and felt like something was off. Too bad because it has a lot of good reviews for it, I thought I would like it also, but that is not the case. The way it was written feels like it is all over the place, like the writer is forcing to trying to get her point across.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Honest, vulnerable, and meaningful read! Surprisingly, I didn't expect to love this book as much as I did. I had not heard of Glennon Doyle Melton prior to reading this aside from knowing that her recently released "Love Warrior" has been raved about. This book, composed of a compilation of personal essays and short stories, was incredible. Everything was well written, personal, relatable, honest, real, and funny. Each essay read as if you were having a conversation with a friend or even reading aspects that are relatable to situations the reader is going through. This book really did have moments where it made me take a breath and think about the important things in life. I didn't find any part of the book 'preachy' or as if the author believed herself to be above others or 'perfect'. The author truly was honest and vulnerable by exposing all that she did but I believe that it was incredible for her to do so in order for her to help others. Definitely a very, very, important and meaningful read. I would be interested to reread in ten years as my life changes because I think it was a very humbling and grounding read as well as a helpful reminder of what is important in life. Cannot wait to read more from this author!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible read!! I was captivated by Glennon's raw honesty and felt sadness, empathy and incredible hope as I read her words; sadness because of the difficulties she experienced, empathy because I felt she was partly telling my story too, and hope because she affirms the inherent human need to rely on the love and grace of our Heavenly Father. This book brought me enjoyment, encouragement and enlightenment. Blessings as you read it!!

Editorial Reviews

“Glennon Melton is a natural storyteller, but it’s herradical honesty and compassion which enable this book to speak right to theheart of the reader. Glennon’s words change readers. Herstories are hilarious, sad, poignant, but they also push and pull at the wallswe’ve put up around ourselves. She honors the complexity of our modernlives, tells us it’s okay to be human, to ask for help, but also reminds us howgreat it feels to do good in the world. Carry On, Warrior is animportant portrait of contemporary womanhood, one that encourages us to takechances and love big.”
