Rated 4 out of 5 by from captivating What an ingenious crook, Abagnale was!!!! From an airplane pilot to a doctor and even a lawyer, he really worked hard before he was even twenty-one to form and be his identity. This was an enchanting read even though a primer on how to do it. I would probably say it is even easier now with all the electronics available. Loved the book!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous! Catch me if you can is not only a fabulous movie, it is a great book too. Since the book was written before the movie, the movie changed a lot of things around for "artistic reasons". So if you want the true story which has many more twists and harsher reality, go for the book. An amazing story that is very well written!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exciting from Start to Finish I could not put this book down! People around me wanted to know what I was reading. The looks on my face, my outbursts of laugher and saying Oh my god! or I can't believe it! with every turn of the page made everybody want to read it after I was finished. I've read it three times or more. It's just as captivating and exciting every time. I'm looking forward to the movie!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Catch Me If You Can I had the opportunity to see and meet Frank and thoroughly enjoyed him. What he brings beyond his book and his escapades are the second chances we should embrace and be grateful for. We all have parents, but not everyone has a mother & father, and everyone needs one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Catch Me If You Can I read this book almost 20 years ago and could not put it down. I read it again, loaned my copy which was never returned (later I tried to buy another copy but it was out of print and I recently saw it has been re-published). When I was in New York last fall I saw an interview on a morning talk show stating a movie would be made I hope it does the book justice (no pun intended). Thumbs up Frank and kudos to you for turning your crime into a learning situation for others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must read I read this book years ago and I am still talking about it. From his jail stint in France to his life of luxury, it's truly a fasinating story. It's unbelievable that this man could dupe pilots into believing he was a pilot and con Doctor's in an operating room that he too was a surgeon. Well worth the read.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Catch Me if You Can Definitely the best true crime book I ever read. Probably because this book is written in the first person by the con artist himself - Frank Abagnale. It is truly an amazing story. His writing come across as very honest, regretful in some places, and not in others. By the end of this book you may find this person one of the most intriguing you ever came across. You will not hate him because of his crimes, but just be left in amazement of the life he has lead.

1THE FLEDGLINGA MAN'S ALTER EGO is nothing more than his favorite image of himself. The mirror in my room in the Windsor Hotel in Paris reflected my favorite image of me-a darkly handsome young airline pilot, smooth-skinned, bull-shouldered and immaculately groomed. Modesty is not one of my virtues. At the time, virtue was not one of my virtues.Satisfied with my appearance, I picked up my bag, left the room and two minutes later was standing in front of the cashier's cage."Good morning, Captain," said the cashier in warm tones. The markings on my uniform identified me as a first officer, a co-pilot, but the French are like that. They tend to overestimate everything save their women, wine and art.I signed the hotel bill she slid across the counter, started to turn away, then wheeled back, taking a payroll check from the inside pocket of my jacket. "Oh, can you cash this for me? Your Paris night life nearly wiped me out and it'll be another week before I'm home." I smiled ruefully. She picked up the Pan American World Airways check and looked at the amount. "I'm sure we can, Captain, but I must get the manager to approve a check this large," she said. She stepped into an office behind her and was back in a moment, displaying a pleased smile. She handed me the check to endorse."I assume you want American dollars?" she asked, and without waiting for my reply counted out $786.73 in Yankee currency and coin. I pushed back two $50 bills. "I would appreciate it if you would take care
